wow. that's a lot of grow for sure. beatiful collection💚💚💚. What kind of weather/conditions do you have at home? Thanks for sharing such amazing plants :)

Hi, Lillian! Most of these sit in normal room humidity which averaged around 40% this past summer. Others are near a humidifier which is typically around 60-70%. A couple have been in a cabinet setting which is around 50% average. I do use grow lights and my house has incredible light/sun exposure….a big reason I chose this house….for my plants 😊. Temps in my house averaged 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit this summer. Hope that helps! Thank you!!!!💚💚💚

@@ThePinkTrellis Thansk so much for the reply. You are absolutely right, the key word here is light! And, of course the no so secret ingredients of love and caring lol. I struggle so much in winter to keep my plants well/alive. I have some grow lights but I believe nothing compares with the real thing. I plan to add more artificial lights this year . we'll see later with the hydro bill lol . Thansk for showing us your beatiful hoyas. 👏 ✨️ 💚💚💚

Wow, impressive! You must have whatever it is hoyas love. Mine all go outside. I do think i under water a bit. And it was hot. The usual suspects grew well for me this summer, the carnosas, the pubicalyx, the no brainier Australis , my Chelsea did well. I have a bitty Serpens that stayed bitty but it did get a wee new stem with two new wee leaves. , a bitty heushkeliania that dropped leaves and grew zero but I did repot her with a different substrate formula and she stopped that nonsense. It’s very weird but even my prolific growers kind of stopped growing by early August. I’m suspicious of the heat. I’ve never done grow lights but the long dark days here in the NE, I’m going to add a couple and see what that will do. I appreciate your content and look forward to hearing more about your tips and tricks, especially for hoyas and dischidia.

Hi, Laurie! Sounds like you had a pretty successful summer! Funny thing, my Heuschkeliana Variegata didn’t grow a lot for me. I probably need to change it’s planter. But my regular Heuschkeliana did a lot of growing and even bloomed for this first time😊. I don’t put any of my plants outside because of the heat here and dry air. I think they grow just fine indoors. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!! It’s a pleasure to meet you 💚💚💚.

How are your single stem cuttings turning into multiple stems? Does the plant grow them on its own or are you cutting & propagating?
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
Hi! They grow on their own. The first plant I show, the engleriana, really surprised me with shoots coming up way away from the original stem. So fascinating to me.
@Jameson777772 жыл бұрын
@@ThePinkTrellis thank you! Just starting my Hoya collection & sometimes the prices of a single stem cutting can be shocking but I guess it’s not so bad if it has the potential to grow into a big plant. 🪴
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
@@Jameson77777 Yep! The single stem prices can be pretty expensive, like my chinghungensis for $40! But to me it's worth it. Plus I'd rather watch the plant grow from almost nothing into something big and beautiful :).

What fertilizer are you using? Extra humidity? My Khroniana have been 'fast' growers but nothing like yours. Beautiful collection
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Caitlin! I use the Fox Farm brand. The plants in cabinets of course are getting extra humidity but the ones out in the rooms are not getting extra humidity and have the same amount of growth. I'm going to do a follow-up video to this one, coming out on the 9th of this month, to discuss what I do to get this amount of growth :). Thank you!

What substrate do you use for your Hoyas?
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Most of my hoyas are in a chunky soil mix that consists of Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, orchid bark, charcoal, perlite/pumice, and worm castings. Some are in a homemade pon mixture and some are in sphagnum moss. But the majority are in my soil mix.

Thanks for your content. So glad you had success. i'm so disappointed there were no details or helpful info... how much light was given, humidity, etc. it was fun seeing the different hoya's but it was so meandering and not-to-the point in the intro but then we didn't get any info on what conditions they were grown so successfully in. but like i said, glad you had success.

Hi, Karen! Oh….an excuse to buy some cuttings 😊. Actually I can just use cuttings of my own which I’m going to be doing towards the end of the month. So it’s basically the same as receiving a cutting in the mail. Hopefully you won’t mind waiting a couple of weeks for that video 😊. Thank you 🎃💚💚💚.

Thanks for sharing! I love seeing healthy Hoya. Did you know that Hoya Gracilis now goes by Hoya Memoria. The one I have has lighter green leaves with much more splashing. Same leaf shape though. 🤔 Can you tell me where you got those cute heart shaped trellises, they are adorable. 💖

Hi, Karen! I've seen it listed as Hoya Memoria Gracilis, usually both names listed. I'll have to remember to say Memoria in the future :). I got the trellises on etsy. Hi Gena! I’ve always meant to ask you how do your cats do with your plants? Do they bother them and if so how do you keep them away😅 I have one cat and I’m always trying to find a way to keep her away from them!
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Kathy! Mine do great (knock on wood!). Nicky (orange tabby) has never messed with the plants as far as eating. Occasionally he plays with the hoya pubicalyx that sits on my breakfast table. He'll bat at it and grab the floppy stems with his mouth. He hasn't done that for a while though. It was a phase I guess. My other cat, Nora, she's a plant eater but only plants like palms or spider plants. She likes grassy like leaves and she loves those that I mentioned. I got rid of any type of plant like that. But then I brought in the ponytail palm and she wouldn't leave it alone. So now I grow cat grass for her and keep it right by the ponytail palm. She leaves the palm alone now :). You can see the cat grass in my videos. It's right below the ponytail palm that sits in the macrame in my living room. We grow the grass from seed. She loves it. I highly recommend setting out some cat grass (I think maybe it's oat grass???) for cats and dogs in homes with houseplants.

I wish they'd leave the names alone LOL. I also still say macrophylla albomarginata and I think it's latifolia now???? Or something. I know it's changed also :).
@walle56672 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure the Gracilis/ Memoria really is a Gracilis/ Memoria. I have a big one and it looks nothing like your plant 🤷♀️ The leaves are lighter and quite splashy. You will see it when it blooms. Memoria flowers are burgundy and they have a strong caramel/ yoghurt-about-to-go-bad scent. Rebecca blooms are soft pink and smell nothing like caramel. Maybe faintly like a rose. They don't have a strong scent, but it's lovely.

Yeah, for sure I’ll know when it blooms. Hopefully that peduncle it has will bloom for me and we’ll know once and for all 🙂. Thanks!
