can anyone tell me what way of the hero means? i can never figure it out

It just means that area has at least one item which is needed for beating the seed (IE Zora, Deku, new wave, Sonata, Boss keys). It can also be for items which unlock stuff needed for beating the game (IE if woodfall boss key is behind cows then where Epona’s is would be way of the hero). Foolish is the opposite, meaning that nothing in that area is needed for beating that seed (IE Mountain village was foolish, had nothing of value. Did have circus leaders which is technically required for Cremia defence, but that gave All Nights and Granny didn’t have anything helpful by then). Fierce Deity can be included as foolish since it doesn’t unlock anything besides extra jumps, and the jumps can be made via bomb abuse or going the vanilla route anyway.

@@Agent-Igto add on to this, the way WotH/foolish are calculated is by “removing” an item one at a time and seeing if the seed can still be beaten, which is why it’s possible for you to have areas that are neither WotH nor foolish. Let’s say all bows are in Clock Town. That doesn’t make Clock Town WotH, because removing any one individual bow doesn’t make the seed unbeatable, but it’s not foolish because it still has major items

Wow sad. There are plenty of reasons to dislike totk, like how it's full price for what could easily be a $40 DLC, the fact it has the same terrible difficulty curve that just makes the enemy massive damage sponges instead of being actually harder, the fact they patched out glitches that make the game less of a grindy mess and actually fun but not actual game breaking bugs...
