This situation was complicated because it’s like being between a wall and a sword, you have a big bond with your father and as I can see his very over protective and doesn’t want you getting hurt and on the other hand you love this person that you share everything with but I think they had to mention it to you if she loves you and trust you because between heaven and earth there is nothing hidden and eventually you would have find out and make this more complicated. I believe when you start a relationship with someone that you need to tell the person everything unless they don’t want to know about your pass but opening up to a person and telling them everything and showing them you have nothing to hide show loyalty and respect because even if you are with them you will always linger questioning in your mind. I also believe things happen for a reason and God puts you in situations to prepare you and make you stronger and he will protect you from anything that will harm you. Sadly in life you must experience harsh moments but at the end it’s worth it.

A controlling parent, however protective they might be, is very hard to handle. One of mine was; the other wasn't. I understand your story dear Fazza. I have experienced similar encounters with a parent in the past. My grandfather tried to stop my first marriage, but he died within a year. While what I just shared is very personal and not in creative writing form, I wrote it to express part of the similarities we share. With all due respect to your wives and the wife so dear to you, our similar and parallel existences are not about a romantic love per sé, but about extremely similar temperaments. My dad didn't try to control me, but I did submit to parental authority from both when it was issued. That you are submissive to your father's authority is a correct action. It will serve you well throughout your life. Isn't it annoying that they are right so very frequently? It isn't that they are correct, so much as the "I told you so" that annoys. (Softly said) We must learn to cautiously trust our own instincts as adults, doing our own homework to follow their example by investigating someone's TRUE background if doubts exist or arise. There's nothing like finding out for one's self on one's own, is there? May you find complete peace within, and joy with the decisions you're making.
