What a blessing this video was! Not sure how it even popped up for me to view, well, actually, I do know...God! I need to hear this and be reminded of my ultimate goal. We are reaching that point in the school year where we are all burnt out on school...and I agree 100% with everything you said...but sometimes we allow outside expectations to shape, or stress us out of our peace that comes from Him. Thank you for this video.

Your home and space is beautiful! We just finished up the same MFW curriculum a week ago. I'm also planning high school, and it's crazy isn't it?! We're starting the Apologia Biology as well next year. Good luck, momma!

This is beautiful 😭 this has been EXACTLY on my mind lately. Just checking all the boxes lately, but where does it get us? Especially with my neuro diverse little guy. The whole reason we chose to homeschool was to allow him to be exactly who he is. Thank you for the wonderful reminder. I’ve also been praying about doing MFW again. I’ve been killing myself creating all my own units. But i just remember how fun and lovely MFW was when we used it in K & 1st.

It sounds like you have a good balance of formal learning and unschooling, I think that balance is very important. I am having to plan for 5 different grades this year too and I haven’t even started yet 😩

This was such an enjoyable video to watch. I am planning homeschool for 3 children this year with my youngest entering kindergarten and oldest entering 6th grade. Trying to figure out if I can still do family style science and history or if I need to do 2 different levels.

I am curious if you have ever used or looked into Simply Charlotte Mason? I am a home school mom of 7 and I am running into similar issues as I hear you speak, I have looked into unschooling and like aspects of it, but have found Charlotte Mason methods so useful. I am looking into possibly doing My Fathers World or Simply Charlotte Mason this upcoming year, just wondering if you have any thoughts on how the 2 compare for schooling s large family. My school age children are 5-13. With a 3 year old and a toddler.

Hello! Yes, I was going to go the Charlotte Mason method but the prep time held me back. For larger families there really isn't a lot of spare time to prep! I went with MFW because they utilize many of the CM books and some of the methods, but the planning is done for me. They are kind of like CM for mom's that just don't have all the time to plan! I use TG&TB for Language Arts though, they too are heavily CM. My Father's World used to say on their website that they utilize CM methods, but I'm not sure they still have that on there. Here are some of my other MFW videos so you can learn more bout them! kzbin.info/aero/PLF8M-ErcDDXJKfuKom97SqPYOcuYkGU7s

Without sounding like a crazy stalker hopefully... you have a beautiful speaking voice and a way with words. I’m considering mfw for next year but was worried it might be too much with a 4 year old and 2 year old hanging around causing trouble for the older two. I was wondering how hard it would be to spread it out!

Do you have a video on My Father's World Countries and Cultures where you put together the student binders? I'm having difficulty putting together the student work sheets, like I'm overwhelmed with it lol. I need a visual.
@mountainmamashome
@mountainmamashome 7 ай бұрын
Hello Dear! You know what, I stopped doing the binders! What I did is I take all the student sheets now, and I bind them together with a binding machine. No separating anything, I just don't have time for that anymore. Anyways, I hope this helps!
@micheleperry.

@@mountainmamashome Thank you! yes it does help. I ended up putting them in the binder under each country, and what isn't in the right place we'll find we we do the lesson, lol.

Have you tried Heart of Dakota? I wonder how HOD compares to MFW? especially if I have one middle schooler and one 8/9th grade level neruodiverse?
@mountainmamashome
@mountainmamashome 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Lisa! No, I haven't. I don't use MFW for high school, especially for my neurodivergent child. For high school I go by my states graduation requirements and put together curriculum that I know will work for them. High school and middle school are too varied to teach together in my opinion/experience/research.

I just found your channel. I'm struggling to decide what I'm doing and when we are starting. My in laws are visiting and I've been selected for jury duty all while trying to get ready. Lol im so close to ordering a box curriculum and call it good. Lol
@mountainmamashome
@mountainmamashome 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Kiki! It's a hard decision figuring out what will be best for curriculum. It's hard to figure out what will work when you've never tried it! Cathy Duffy review site is a huge help to me. Boxed curriculum can be wonderful too when you find the right fit. For jury duty I always tell them I'm the primary care for however many kids I have at the time, that I'm a homeschool mom and that my husband can't take time off work to take my place (because this is the truth). They always let me off. Maybe you could try this? As for the family visiting, I once lost 3 months of the school year to family visiting on their schedule and whims. My kids ended up having to homeschool full time through an entire summer and I didn't get any time off to plan. I asked advice in a homeschool group and experienced mom's told me I needed to figure out my on and off weeks at the beginning of the school year and then let my family know when they were welcome to come instead of being so accommodating to everybody else. I don't know if this is helpful or applies in your situation or not but I figured I'd share in case it does? I'm sure you will do amazing and may God BLESS your homeschool time!!

Just starting my journey as a MFW homeschool and Realtor mama. What is the best lesson plan book for multiple grades? I have a 3rd and 5th grader. One with ADHD, so needs structure, but no structure if you know what I mean. Please help! I am a former classroom teacher, but it is different having 25 other people's kids than your own in a smaller space and more possibilities for learning.

I really like MFW so much! The only thing that really doesn't work for me is the science. It's too scienc-y lol 😂. I plan on doing Gentle Classical Press Nature ( using just the Free teachers manuals) until 7th grade. Then we will move onto Generations God Made Life and God made The World. I think this is sufficient until HS.
