Absolutely love the manga. I suggest reading beyond. There’s some awesome chapters near the end and the middle . There’s an entire chapter with ichi meeting a woman in the rain. There’s also another one of my favorite chapters where ichi duels someone on a beach.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I really relate with what you said about depending on storytelling to get any sort of positive feelings. My father passed away this January and I've been looking after him for like a year before that, so watching anime and old asian movies has been my only real escape. I'm glad that you were passionate enough about sabu to Ichi to post a video on it and as I said in the past I really enjoy these unscripted videos. I look forward to your next post. I'm also looking into purchasing one of your designs in your etsy shop and I hope to do that as soon as I can afford to.

@@bobsamurai Thanks for the kind words bob. I've been running through Tatsuya Nakadai's filmography and I'm looking at starting The Human Condition trilogy. I've also been exploring a few of the so called sixth generation films from China. I'd recommend you give Suzhou River a watch if you ever get the chance.

Everytime I watch a showa anime it's impossible to not notice something animated by Keiichiro Kimura. This man elevated singlehandely the quality of multiple series. Great work as usual.

Correction on the opening of this video. This actually is listed as Toei and Mushi on various sites. not sure what's up with that, but the sentiment still stands regarding the nature of Mushi on average during the 1960s

I recently watched the first few episodes of Sabu and Ichi and though it was solid, but I stopped because the incompleteness bummed me out. Though it does look like the manga is fully translated so I might check that out instead.

Does the anime adapt the same stories as the manga or are they original ones. And should a read the manga first or like you watch the anime first? Thanks

Sabu no ichi is the best anime from the 60s I’m seen (not my favourite is primasses knight) I’m love all the episodes of it but most of the best ep is in the beginning and the not memorable ep is in the end of the series but still is great series And I’m haw seen the pilot and is super cartooning and best of the first chapter of the mangan

Sorry for the late reply Bob. Rest in peace to your brother 🙏😔 Idk how old he was but I assume somewhere near your age, so way too young to go. It's still fresh but if you already don't, maybe get something in the future to always remember him by. It's been almost 11 years since I lost a loved one and sometimes it almost seems like a dream. Did she really even exist? Was any of it real? But maybe that's also because I'm 34 (35 at the end of this month) and the world has vastly changed in the last 10-20 years. I'm gonna finally buy a custom wristband on Amazon to wear so I can always have a reminder of her (my mom) with me. And to finally make her proud, pathetic that I haven't at my age but it's my own fault. I just hope there's still time. Lastly, I DEFINITELY feel you to using movies, anime etc to feel positive emotions. Maybe it's the 90s kid in me that had a great childhood and was forever impacted by the words of Sailor Moon and Digimon characters giving me positive life messages. Glad I grew up on that and not KZbinrs and Tiktokers. But honestly I've always felt different and been watching alot of X-Men content on KZbin lately to make me feel better. Love those movies. Anyways that was super long. Feel better Bob!
@bobsamurai6 ай бұрын
Thanks, the bracelet is certainly sentimental and also an effective reminder, but our thoughts are more powerful over time, so it's not like you went without thinking of her. And yea so much has changed, feels like another world lol.
@equivalentexchangeisalie57266 ай бұрын
@@bobsamurai Definitely. I just need a visual reminder in my current phase of life. Anyways, stay tough Bob. And speaking of anime, I'm about to travel back to 2003 and watch Witch Hunter Robin. Until next time 🤝

"People bash anime if they include live action". That's kind of funny because Evangelion fans lose their minds over the live action footage in EoE, personally I just found it pretentious much like the movie itself. I would watch this show in a heartbeat but the incomplete translatation is what holds me off from it, I would watch the first 32 episodes but it seems like I'm getting a 65% of the story if I did that, and well, it wouldn't make me feel right saying I finished watching it on MAL even though I'm techically lying. It's kind of like saying you watched all the episodes of a lot of pre 10s fighting shonen anime when that isn't true and I mainly watched the canon stuff but MAL will think you watched ALL the episodes. MAL can be a little unhealthy at times. And YEAH, I feel you dude, if I'm not watching anime, shows, movies, playing games, listening to music or even reading comics, I just get annoyed really easily. Anything that is not me doing any of those things tends to get on my nerves, it's not a good trait to have but playing video games especially is the only thing that makes me happy. There's conventions too but those happen rarely. Outside of all that if I'm not doing any of that stuff, I'll just get agitated.
