Your favorite make of the year gives me so much joy!! I love hearing what you've learned. I love watching your journey. Your positive energy is so inspiring! I look forward to those UFO's coming back with new life in 2022!

I’ve just subscribed because I love your enthusiasm and your willingness to modify the patterns to suit yourself, even if it doesn’t turn out like your vision. Love it.

Thank you so much, Emma! I love that those moments where the garment doesn't go my way, I still walk away with so much new knowledge of how to do it better next time. Thank you!

That Simplicity velvet burnout dress with the ruffle was probably my favourite thing you made last year. What a knockout dress! You made so many beautiful garments. I love that you hack patterns so often and incorporate so many pretty ruffles.

Thank you so much Rikki! I have surprisingly worn that dress so much more than I though I would as my friends have wanted to have girls nights out or in! It is super fun, and I love finding a basic pattern that I can make my own! Thanks for your kind comment!

Fatmata this video was great. Once again your enthusiasm drew me in. I’ve been here for all your makes. Lol. As for the red lace top/blouse , I’d remove the sleeves underline them and reattach them. I’d also self draft a cuff for them, right below your elbows, that way you can retain your puff. Finish the side seams hem it and rock it. I like the accordion standup collar. I love your lessons learned, I’ll try to keep a better track of my makes this year and when I do my roundups next year, I’ll discuss them. Looking forward to your future videos.

Thank you for the redesign advice for the red lace top, I will need to revisit and give it a try! I cannot wait to go back to it in the future. Thank you as always! && I am looking forward to your roundups and hear all the amazing lessons you've learned over the years!

Oh thank you, Katrice! I was just saying my UFOs are going to now affectionately consider them "Undoubtedly Feeling Optimistic" refashions lol wish me luck!

I love your makes and your willingness to fix the garments that didn't work. I am now inspired to try to fix some of my UFOs. I usually just ignore them and move on. I excited to see what you make next
@TIMAbyFK2 жыл бұрын
I am so happy that is the case Raslalique! We shouldn't be afraid of those UFOs, because after they've been given that label, really what's the worse that can happen. We are already not wearing them, so they are perfect for experimentation. I think I'm going to coin a new title for UFOs and say that I am "Undoubtedly Feeling Optimistic" about them! It's a mouthful, but I'll share it in my Friday sews and hopefully it'll spread lol X XHappy Sewing!!

Love this, I just found your channel. And love this video. I love that your able to find generic patterns and able to hack them to fit to you. This is the type of hacks I want to do as well. Would you be able to make videos on how to hack patterns. Definitely a new subscriber

Thank you Amina, I have started sharing some of my behind the scenes videos of my makes to hopefully document how I am hacking the patterns I use, I hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much for joining the channel and I can't wait to share more!

Thanks for watching Sarah! It was so nice to reflect on the highs and lows last year, it was kind of incredible to see the growth, the risks taken, and to celebrate the lessons learned. So glad you enjoyed it!

Wowza your hits look smashing on you! Im gonna try your matching color-way dress!
@TIMAbyFK2 жыл бұрын
Please do!! I find that using the same print in different color ways is a easy way to try out that trend and design feature because a lot of the hard work has been done for you and it feels more cohesive and intentional.

I enjoyed the video. I made a jacket last year that had princess seams. It was the first I had sewn princess seams. If I make the jacket again I will choose a different zipper. I have worn it a few times. It was a set. It has pants to go with it.

That is awesome! I am happy to hear that you got to make a new type of garment last year, and got some lessons to carry on to a future make too! Veronica, I see a "set" theme in the makes that you are drawn to and I love it!

You are too kind! I had to watch the video to remember what top I was wearing lol. It is a me made, I am glad to report, I used Simplicity 9231 for the top, and borrowed sleeves from S8875 (one of my favorites)

PS I bought 10 yards of the dumb “feather weight” interfacing online at Joann’s during the after Xmas sale. I blame them! They know that description is wrong!
@TIMAbyFK2 жыл бұрын
OK, so I'm not happy that you also had to experience that, but I am glad that I am not crazy! I was like, what's feathery about this? hahaha I went in during the Black Friday sale and got 5 yards of it! Never again lol, but now I know better

Hi Lynn, thanks so much for watching! I found that lovely gold lace trim at my local Value Village and that pink ankara was the perfect canvas for it. I stitched in into the center panel of the S8888 bodice. I show the full process in that month's sewing vlog, you can skip to 11:05 of this video for more of the making process: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2Svp6aFnb-Ne8U I hope you enjoy!
