I Spoke with a Fish has to be my favorite here. The line "recorded music is a statue of a waterfall" is soo gorgeous.

in my opinion, this is phil's best work since the glow pt. 2. I'm genuinely flabbergasted.

This is definitely my aoty, this album's 80 minutes and 26 tracks and I don't dislike a single moment from it.

…like…it’s hard not to listen to the full thing, and it hasn’t felt long once.
@Alex20830Ай бұрын
@DrenK9 yeah exactly! Also I've been replaying at least 10-15 tracks constantly, and I'll probably relisten to the full album again tomorrow!

Listened to this album yesterday, and it's definitely an experience. I barely listened to Mount Eerie, but even compared to The Microphones stuff I've heard, this has some of Phil's best songs on it. I would love to see your reaction to Donuts by J Dilla. That album has been growing massively for me recently, and I feel like you'd really enjoy it.

This album was so good it was insane, definitely in my top 5 for aoty. Also a reaction vid like this, were it was mostly uncut, was really cool to see, a really chill vibe and i think it’d be cool to see more reactions like this.

i just don't get Mount Eerie. What makes his music so great to you or other people that like it? I dont get the appeal at al. It's even hard for me to get thru one song, let alone a whole album.

Maybe try his album Clear Moon from 2012.. Ive suggested it multiple times to people that couldnt get into Mount Eerie with a pretty high succes rate

I find this a weird question. There's nothing to explain that isn't self-evident. To me Phil is an incredibly compelling and relatable lyricist and he combines those lyrics with very effective sounds that elevate the poetry. In other words, he makes music I like. If you don't like it, why would someone explaining why it's good change anything ? You'd have much better odds by forcing yourself to just listen to it ten times instead.
