I've never been interested in reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but now that I've heard you talk about it, I'd definitely like to read it!

Yes, I enjoyed Kate's book too. Hopefully, its success here will inspire other booktubers finally to finish that first novel. Believe it or not, authors sometimes are people too : )

Yep, I hear ya! Had my son in 2022 and my reading plummeted! Quality over quantity is much preferred though 😊

LOVED Katie's book! Gothic novels don't really appeal to me, but her book made me less hesitant in exploring the Bronte sisters. I took a deep dive into Jane Austen in July that never ended and got immersed in Persuasion. I started to do a belated reaction video to the Netflix version of Persuasion and did two blogposts before it turned into me translating the novel into 21st century America. So I've been writing more than reading and I've lost count how many times I've read Persuasion. HAPPY 2024!

Wow!! Your deep dive into Jane Austen and your writing project sound amazing! It also seems like you might like certain Gothic novels after all. I hope you have a wonderful reading and writing year in 2024!

Thank you for this video! Your reviews are always so thoughtful. I haven't read any of these books, but you make me want to! A favorite of mine from 2023 that you might like is Excellent Women by Barbara Pym, if you haven't read it already.

Thank you! I hope you do get to read these all eventually as they were wonderful! I've wanted to read Excellent Women for a long time actually. I started it years ago, but it clearly wasn't the right book for me in the moment so I put it down. I always have trouble returning to books that I can tell are amazing, but not right for me at the time. One day hopefully I'll give Barbara Pym another try.

Katie’s novel was definitely one of my favourites too. I also loved Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (7 Husbands is still on my TBR) and The Disappearance of Astrid Bricard by Natasha Lester.

Ah Daisy Jones and the Six was amazing! It was my favorite Taylor Jenkins Reid before reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Now I think my favorite between the two would depend on the day and my mood lol.
