Great video. I like that each selection accompanied something significant in your life.

I'm in love with all these beautiful editions in the background. Liked that you took us through your bookish decade. Might need to reed some of your favourites as I'm into a different genre than you and are into broadening my bookish horizon.

After seeing you talk about Nora Robert's 'The Obsession' I read a sample of it on Kindle. The first few pages had me hooked right away. I borrowed it from my library. I'm going to start reading it this afternoon.

A Kiss for Midwinter and A Week to be Wicked are two of my all-time favorite romances. 2012 was a crazy good year for historical romance!
@Wats060714 жыл бұрын
From 2010-Mid 2019 was without a doubt my worst time reading wise. I simply gave in to TV shows and I was reading only about 3-4 books a year. Then around May/June last year (see the first book I picked was all the way until May) after finishing "The Silence of The Girls" and was curious if anybody was talking about it I discovered BookTube. Well, the rest is history as they say. My first love has been rekindled and I went on to read 11 books last year. In January 2020 I already finished 3 books. I know this is nothing to many, but English is not my first language (so I can't read that fast), and I still have other hobbies. So, reading 2-4 books a month would very satsfying thing for me.

I picked up the first Kate Daniels book on your recommendation. I'll read it next. I'm really trying to get through my TBR books this year, but if I like it, which I think I will as it's just my style of book, my TBR will be getting bigger!

Loved this video! I'm not entirely sure I can remember what I read at the beginning of the decade. Definitely a lot of fantasy (that's been a constant in my life for a while). I did have a period of time towards the beginning of the decade where I felt like I needed to read classics because I felt like others were judging me for reading books that aren't like "high literature." There was a couple of years of lots of paranormal romance. Only in the past year or so, I've started to get into reading some YA (I avoided this for a really long time). Also discovered that I do enjoy romance books.

More books to add to the wishlist, but I am sorry about your dad. I had that moment with my mom back in 2014 due to a form of colitis. Scared me to death because she technically is the only parent I have. The man I call dad is my step dad, but he's a way better dad than my biological father. My mom was born the same year as your dad, 1951, good year from what I'm told. I am glad you found Booktube to help, even though I have been hanging out for a little it is a wonderful community that serves as a great opportunity to help others find a good book or discover genres, or just converse. I will be starting the first book in the Murderbot series this week. :)

Hey! At least I read a couple of these. I thought Hunger was so sad, and I think she - understandibly- never got over what happened to her, and still carries a lot of self-loathing. Maybe it never said that, but it was very clear between the lines. I read the 7th Kate Daniels book last month, and I love Act Like it - if you happen to know of another series with equaly lovable characters, I love to hear about it... Also, no kittens? Happy reading

What is the difference between youtube and booktube
@lyrikw14304 жыл бұрын
Booktube = KZbin channels about books
@beachblingbooks65214 жыл бұрын
It can be confusing at first, but BookTube actually is KZbin; it's just youtube videos centered around books. There are some 'regular' topics that many BookTubers upload, and then one ofs that your favourite booktubers create. If you're a reader, Welcome to a whole new world😚
