⚬ 1 1/4 CUP ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
⚬ 3/4 CUP SUGAR
⚬ 1 TSP BAKING SODA
⚬ 1/4 TSP BAKING POWDER
⚬ 1/2 TSP SALT
⚬ 2 3/4 CUP BRAN FLAKES
⚬ 1 BEATEN EAG
⚬ 1 CUP BUTTERMILK
⚬ 1/4 CUP VEGETABLE OIL
⚬ PREHEAT OVEN TO 325 DEGREES. ADD DRY INGREDIENTS TO BOWL. STIR TO COMBINE. ADD REMAINING WET INGREDIENTS. STIR WELL TO MOISTEN MAKING SURE ALL FLOUR IN INCORPORATED IN MIXTURE. I sat down in front of my laptop with coffee and carrot cake bran muffins. I made them last evening during our snow event, let them cool then stashed in the fridge. Aldi sells pretty everything you used including the bran cereal but theirs is sweetened so I adjust my sugar. I whirl my bran in a blender to break it down into a flour, otherwise the flakes turn soggy, I've found.

Made your muffins today, tweaked the recipe a little, added raisins and chopped walnuts. Fantastic! Made a double batch because my muffin pans are the BIG muffins. Made 18 big beautiful muffins! Thank you Rene! I Gave my sister 6, she said she was going to save them and bring one to work tomorrow for breakfast. About ten minutes after I got home she sent a text that she couldn't stand it. So she decided to eat a half of one, she said I couldn't stop! I ate the whole thing! Can you be sure to make me some more when I make some more?? Renee. Thanks for this amazing recipe! Hello bran flakes! I was going to make a trip to whole foods just to buy bran for muffins. I have bran flakes wt raisins in the cuboard! Problem solved!! Fyi i dont use cooking "spray" bad for the envronment!! I use a plastic bottle wt small spout and keep a small silicone brush next to stove to apply oil! 👍

Over 30 years ago I work with someone that made these. She said it was her grandmother's recipe. I had forgotten how much I liked these. She would mix up the batter and only bake a few a day. This looks like a recipe out of my “cooking from quilt country“ cookbook. The one in the cookbook is called “Green Meadows six -week bran muffins” and it makes 42 - 48 muffins but you can keep The batter for up to six weeks in the fridge and just make as many as you want at a time. I used to make these a lot when I was still married. Now that I am old and live alone your recipe would be more to my liking especially since I just saw the end of your video saying you can save the batter just like my recipe does . 😃 I have the book in front of me and if you would like the recipe I can send it to you😊

Good morning! My mom is getting her 2nd dose of chemo today actually. She was really sick for the first 2 weeks after the first dose...but was feeling better the 3rd week. Now we repeat the cycle. She has to have a total of 6 doses each spread out 3 weeks apart. And interestingly enough, she wasn't nauseous! She did develop sores in her mouth and prevented her from eating anything other then liquids and soup. Her biggest issue was pain in her legs and feet. None of us knew what to expect from the chemo....so we're certainly more prepared this go round. Thank you for asking about her ♥️

@@WelcomeToMyCurls Oh, my ... so sorry to hear your mom having to go through this. For the sores in her mouth, get some Anbesol normally used for babies when teething it will provide the much needed relief and allow her to eat better. Best way to apply it is using a Q-tip directly to the sore(s)

Great recipe! I was able to convert this into vegan muffins by using the creamier version of oat milk, a heaping 1/4 cup of apple sauce for the egg and checking the bran cereal to make sure it doesn’t contain milk, etc. To make sure they’re fluffy, I’d shift the flour, baking powder and baking soda together.

Hi Renee from Montreal Quebec 🇨🇦. Last night I needed some comfort here because we can't go out because of the pandemic security measures from 8:00. Pm to 5:00 am so I baked my version of your muffins! I made some changes to suit my health and diet and also because there were no buttermilk at the grocery store close to my apartment 😬. So I used bran squares, brown sugar, used 2% milk, a few drops of vanilla and semi sweet chocolate bits 😉🙂. Baked 20 minutes and they were yummy in my belly; I had one this morning with my coffee with a dab of butter and thought of you folks and Moo and Pollux ❤️💞❤️💞. Have a good and safe day!

Use Olive oil or coconut oil instead of the vegetable oil and organic eggs and branflakes, cane sugar--organic buttermilk ... I have had a similar recipe in the past and only use non-gmo and organic ingredients.

Hi Renee I couldn't wait -- I went to the store and bought everything for these muffins. I used the same muffin tin exactly as you did. My muffins didn't pop out easily of the pan like yours did. I sprayed the same product as you did. I only got 3 out fairly in tact. They are delicious but in pieces. What did I do wrong? I added cranberries to the raisin bran. Yum yummy Jeanne

We make Raisin Bran muffins that are delicious and addicting. I like them warm right out of the oven!!! The batter is good in the frig for 6 weeks. You never mix it back up, just scoop, bake and enjoy!
