Agreed on Douglas Moo and Romans. Gordon Fee on 1 Corinthians and Philippians are also quite good, although he does leave me behind sometimes with his thousand dollar seminarian words.

I wrote a commentary on 3rd John at college. It was over 50 pages for 14 verses :). I have logos too. It's so much easier to just take my laptop instead of a bag full of books

Yes, much easier for traveling and studying on the go while waiting for appointments and such. But I sure love to geek out at my kitchen table with all of my Bibles, Commentary's, Dictionary's, maps, and concordances. 🕵‍♀🙃It's wonderful to have both options. I feel much more connected to my study when I have the books I can mark and write in. I can hand them down to my children and grandchildren.

I have NICOT and NICNT prioritized as my first complete commentary set in Logos. Above it I have a few select commentaries I would call my favorite which you identify over time. It's not complete but right above the New International Commentary is the EEC produced by Faithilife and Lexham Press.

Personally I enjoy the New Interpreters Bible Commentary. It is pretty academic but still not as bad as some others. I also like the Belief Theological Commentaries, especially Acts.

I like New Interpreters as well but they are little more liberal in their view of Scripture than I am.

Side note; with your audio issues, IDK what your set up is but it kind if you're running a shotgun straight into the camera, it kind of sounds like the cable was a bit loose. That or it sounds like you had a wire that was unshielded and it was getting interference from somewhere.

You should consider a video on how you use the logos. I have it, but I’m sure I’m not squeezing as much as I should out of the notes or study documents... and I lived through the audio snafu.

I have several volumes of New American commentary and love them, because of their evangelical Conservative approach to the scriptures. Would you consider New International to be Conservative or Liberal? I read a few reviews on Amazon and judging solely on the reviews, they appear more liberal in their doctrinal issues.

Best one that I've read, as a single volume commentary, is the Believer's Bible Commentary, written by William MacDonald and edited by Arthur Farstad (that's the New King James Bible guy). The Matthew Henry Commentary is also good, and old enough to be in the public domain, but because it's so old the language can be overly formal. The Believer's Bible Commentary costs about $25. Not NEARLY as in depth as the NICOT/NICNT, but about 1/100th the size. It's kind of like a study Bible, but one where they comment on Every. Single. Verse.

​ @Jason Mayfield Greetings from Thailand, I live here. Jason these are books that everyone used in school when he was going. Most of them are older and hard to find. Famous authors. I didn't know his leanings until I looked him up on wikipedia. You would never know it listening to him but he really likes Paul and has some good vids about him. I challenge you to listen to his series on Christ the servant series from Isaiah. Actually brought tears to my eyes. Which brings me to my question brother. What is the best commentary on Isaiah. It is like a mini Bible. I bought Chuck Missler's series on the book. I just don't have a good grasp on it. When I search there are too many guys that supposedly wrote good commentaries on it. Kind of frustrating.

Moo gives so much information in Romans that the information is in no way practical for the everyday Christian. Paul did not make ROmans as complicated as Moo did. I sent mine back. I quickly got lost in the weeds, and I have a Master's degree. I wouldn't buy another one. Hardly accessable to anyone but Dr. Moo.
