I can vouch for the As I Am buttercream. I pair it with the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave In conditioner and my hair is moisturized for days! It’s an expensive combo since the buttercream is $18 alone, but your hair will thank you. I haven’t found a better combo yet that gives moisture for long.

I heard that The shaft of low porosity hair doesn't need protein but the ends are usually high porosity so the ends which are the oldest part of the hair still need Protein and oil
