My issues with reversals was just trying to catch what I thought would be the top of the trend rather than waiting for confirmation of a reversal. Friday I noticed on AMZN I could add small size to the momentum and then just flip to short once there was confirmation of the reversal.

I ran across this video earlier today and literally skipped it thinking ‘way to young’ and then saw it a second time come up. Ya fooled me! Wow,never has anyone clearly expressed the reversal mindset. I much prefer sitting patiently waiting for a setup that occasionally runs into a trend trade where adding to a winning position just makes sense without the stress, Fisk and anxiety of buying pullbacks. Really enjoyed it and BFRG is ready to slingshot up. Only 5.5M shares but the story with Johns Hopkins is real. (Just a tid bit to check out) $6 ready to be broken and Bulls are stepping in all day at support.

Hi Peachy, love your content! I too am a reversal trader (primarily shorts in this current bear market). I've placed over 200 shorts this year and 95% were profitable - my account is up 283% YTD trading only ES. I aim for consistent base hits and let things compound by increasing my trade size as the account grows. The reason the short side works so well is the down moves are so much faster than up moves. Say for example a 30-point up move takes 2 days. It might completely reverse in 1 hour which is 48x faster. My strategy is to be patient like you suggested and I have a stop that (usually slightly above a recent high) and put in a limit order at the same time I place the trade. Then as soon as it is ITM more than the last red candle I move the stop to ensure no loss. Then just keep moving the stop down manually. I stop trading at 5 trades per day (usually only 2-3).

Thanks for your content. Kinda newto this futures stuff but wanted to ask if you've tried with any success entering the trade as a OCO order, settingan entry limit 4 ticks below market, then a profit level at, say 6-10 ticks on ES and a stop at 3-4 ticks? More generally, could a mechanical method of trading futures (ES, CL, GC) via OCO trades work, using trend to place your bets?

Hey Peachy! I appreciate the videos and I had one question regarding sizing into a trade. Often times I see myself sizing in when my pre-determined zone is met but I’m unsure what has the best potential: going with a full size order or sizing more as my the price extends further into my zone. Sometimes the psychological part of this is the most difficult! Thanks for the great content! Cheers to travels :)

Mostly depends on your risk tolerance. When trading a 5k account with mini futures or high leverage, better off sizing in when it goes your way. That way you still have a decent stop loss from the start of the trade. But if you trade micros or low leverage you might as well go 'full size' from the start. It improves the win ammoiunt, but with micros you still have a stop loss that is not to close to your entry. IMHO

Josef, Great question! That's something I question myself on as well. I have this subliminal mental goal that tells me I need to get the very very best price. Well, often that can work against me because I go in too heavy too early. And then if I add I've got two much size on. However, if it's a time of day momentum move, load the boat. I heard someone say, you're not looking for an entry, you're looking for an area to campaign around price. Just let go of the idea that you're going to catch the actual top and. So as a reversal trader, as you come into a level, you may enter small because you don't want to miss the move. But if it moves against you, that's actually good because that is an opportunity to add to your campaign at a better level as you watch and test the market reaction at that level. Often by the times it moves from the level/ range, I am full size. If you are a skilled reversal trader, if you go in small and get stopped out right away, don't be discouraged. Many many times you weren't wrong- you were just early. If you're confident. Get in again. Keep in mind, your campaigning around price. Also, I'm not fond of trend days because I just don't trust the market 🙂 . If we do encounter a trend day, you will find me selling partials and buying dips all the way up. Money in the bank is great on the psychology.

Hey P. Appreciate all the informative videos. Looking for context here. If you’re making $4k on these trades that are making you ~0.8 per stock, you’re buying roughly $2 million in stock. Am I seeing this correctly? A lot of your videos say how good you do in trades like this, but it would be really helpful to know these huge upfront risks to do so. Thanks

Regarding the "you're not supposed to have A+ setups every day" : You can become drowned in 'A+' setups every day if you monitor 500 stocks and code Ninja to scan for specific scenarios. My constant problem is having too many setups at once because I allow B/C quality, since they can often still produce better results than the 'perfect' setups. I see you use Ninja, maybe you'd get some value from coding a scanner. You could probably whip something up in 15mins to a few hours depending on complexity of the scenarios you are looking for.

It's very difficult with a person who has a reversal trade mindset to follow trend, because you're looking for the signs of reversal, and the more it goes, the more confident you become knowing a reversal is coming.... hence you miss the trend trade. I have lost a lot of money looking for reversals. I think realizing the trend is better, and getting out or flipping at the sign it may be coming.
