A little thing I loved about Chuck's rant was how he claimed Jimmy was "stealing them blind" not "robbing them blind" like the saying actually goes. Chuck is a stickler for the law even amidst a rant has the clarity of mind to correctly label what Jimmy was doing as stealing and not robbing.

The whisky they were drinking was a (fake obviously) bottle of 1966 MacAllan 35 years old. In today's money, that's a $75,000 bottle of single malt goodness. Traditionally, you would add a single drop of water to the whisky (no ice), and swirl the whisky in the glass. Then you would take time to observe the lines of fluid flowing down the sides of the glass, the residue left from the swirling. These are called the "legs". The drop of water reacts with the tannins in the whisky, releasing the aromas and flavours, and taking a deep sniff of the vapours prepares the palate prior to taking your first sip. After letting the aromas settle, take you first sip - just a tiny sip - and let it roll over your tongue, maximising your pleasure and fully appreciating the tastes. We Scots call this drink "The Water of Life", which is the English translation of "Uisge Beatha" in Scottish Gaelic. The word "whisky" is transliteration of the word "uisge". Sllàinte mhath! (Good health - a traditional Scottish toast)

When I was first watching it, I expected Huel to have planted some electrical device on Chuck. I wad soooo disappointed it was a battery. There is no current flowing when the battery isn’t connected to anything. Like Chuck said, he wouldn’t feel anything even if his condition was real. Seeing a battery, Chick could have claimed, that it indeed wasn’t supposed to make him feel anything. The writers really dropped the ball.

Legal and “right” are not the same thing. To argue that they are only proves you aren’t the philosophical savant you think you are. @@NewsofPE You think like that because you try to see things the way Chuck sees. During his whole life he had to save Jimmy again and again from the bad things he did. For him, Jimmy was a problematic brother that he cared about, but was always up to something. Jimmy robbed his own family when he was 9 yo and Chuck knew that, but despite that he always was the favorite. Now imagine that this extremely problematic brother just got a law degree, something that you hold sacred, something that you devoted your whole life to. The first thing Chuck expected was for Jimmy to abuse this power (like he does) and that ended up happening again and again, and every time he got sicker because of that. And no, Jimmy didn't do things wrong because of him not having the support of Chuck, it was just Jimmy was. Always when tried to do something the right way, it ended up bad for him, which was followed by him doing things the Saul way's, which ended up good for him, but hurt everyone around him - just like Chuck said.

@@NewsofPE People completely ignore the fact that jimmy was never fit to be a good honest lawyer. Chuck knew him best, better than Kim and he gets proven right throughout the show. The only reason they hate him because he does not support jimmy's action and see right through him. Jimmy takes advantage of his brother's mental condition and shames him in middle of the court while knowing chuck was 100% in the right. Chuck always put law above everything and was still declared crazy in court because of his condition that NEVER affected his decision making in any way. Chuck was never a loving character but he was a honest hard working man, and while he was jealous of jimmy because of how charismatic jimmy was and how he can make people like him while still being scummy. But the truth is his own family loved jimmy more even though he was the honest hardworking one. Chuck is an unfortunate character that is misunderstood by many.

Little fun detail at the beginning is Chuck giving his lie about the electric company switching up the addresses, and Jimmy being there to hear it. Then of course, that's what Jimmy ends up doing to Chuck to instigate this whole hearing. At the very beginning, the workers are setting up the house to make it look normal. That's why they said they'd have to get to the attic to wire the hood. They said they weren't going to be using it, because it was all just a show to make Rebecca think he's normal. The implication is that Chuck's illness, being a psychosomatic disorder manifesting his inner resentment towards Jimmy, begins shortly after Jimmy passes the bar. Chuck is working away normally when Jimmy shows him the letter. But once Chuck starts thinking about Jimmy being a lawyer, his subconscious creates the condition as a means of creating an environment where now Jimmy has to dedicate his time taking care of Chuck the way Chuck used to always help Jimmy out, which prevents Jimmy from having enough time to dedicate towards making a name for himself. Chuck fears who Jimmy will hurt, having a law degree and not taking the law seriously enough to play by the rules, his subconscious acts in self defense of Chuck's views on what is ethically right.

He does, but the way in which things happen is so insidious. Chuck didn't have to concoct a scheme that involved him faking insanity and violating the terms of his condition just to hurt Jimmy as much as I could. This episode shows that Chuck isn't doing it out of brotherly love, he's doing it out of malice
@alsomasteruzi
@alsomasteruzi 18 күн бұрын
@@officialmonarchmusic Chuck did that whole scene to make sure jimmy does not get away with what he did, jimmy was a felon. Just because he was chucks brother you think he can hurt his reputation and get away with it? What chuck did was clearly the right move but what jimmy did in the court was taking advantage of his brothers mental condition to save his ass and declare chuck crazy.
@officialmonarchmusic

@@alsomasteruziI don’t think that you should get away with crimes, but Chuck’s plan is so incredibly convoluted and hurts more people along the way. He didn’t even know what Jimmy did, and yet faked insanity to medical professionals, (That feels like a crime even if it isn’t) and then when he DOES have proof he manipulates his employee Ernie and then casts him aside afterwards. Not to mention that Chuck’s rant at the end shows that he doesn’t love Jimmy, if he does it is deep down, he hates Jimmy and wants to hurt him as much as he can because frankly, he doesn’t think he’ll ever amount to anything and the law should treat him as such too. Yes, I know Jimmy is a felon but even felons will have their sentence end, Chuck throughout the whole show has been trying to do this
@alsomasteruzi
@alsomasteruzi 17 күн бұрын
@@officialmonarchmusic What plan of chucking hurts other people? Of course he didn’t know what jimmy did but he figured it out and made him confess. He didn’t ‘fake’ his condition, it was not a physical condition but a mental one that did make him physically distress and disturbed. Again not a crime. And fym he manipulated earnie? You acting like he made him commit a crime. This has nothing to do with love at all, him loving or hating jimmy is up for a debate but i’m pretty sure he loved him to some capacity, maybe not enough to support jimmy’s actions and shortcuts. Chuck never wanted to intentionally hurt jimmy, he didn’t want him to be a lawyer but he never stopped him from practicing his own thing. And lmao you really think chuck thinks he’ll amount to nothing?? then you definitely haven’t watched the show with your eyes open. And your last sentence just doesn’t make sense.
@officialmonarchmusic
@officialmonarchmusic 16 күн бұрын
@@alsomasteruziHe did “fake” a condition. Not HIS condition, that’s real, if only psychosomatic, I’m talking about when he faked complete insanity in the HOSPITAL, to make it look like the CAT scan had fried his brain. He wasn’t just messing with Jimmy, he was interfering with the jobs of trained medical professionals. I’m not a legal expert, but if that’s not a crime, it’s barely stretching the limit. He later faked another form of insanity to record Jimmy, which isn’t as bad as these other things, but just for the record, is a crime in almost half the states, including my own. He 100% manipulated Ernie, deliberately setting him up to hear the tape and using his friendship with Jimmy against him, then literally promptly firing him. This is the biggest example. Not to mention he wastes a good deal of HHM’s money on 24 PIs What I mean is that Jimmy is not and should not be marked for life after committing a crime. He should be given other chances. Yet Chuck uses all his resources throughout seasons 1 and 2 to keep Jimmy as unsuccessful as possible. It is 100% out of malice

The most impressive thing is that up until certain point, Chuck was right. Right now we are enthralled and captured by Jimmy but we have to remember that we know for sure that somehow Jimmy becomes Saul Goodman and helps one of the biggest kingpin in USA. That's the tragedy of Chuck's ramble: he was right in everything he said. The issue is the malice and that he had no solid proof (except the recording).

@@officialmonarchmusic Nah, he wouldn't change, it was shown during the show. Jimmy tried again and again to do the right thing, but it always went bad for him, which ended up with him doing things the Slipping Jimmy's way. It happened again and again, and in the end, he always hurt those around him because of that, just like Chuck said: 1 - He hired those two skaters and they ended with a broken leg. 2 - He did that Billboard thing and Chuck ended up being tased by the police officers. 3 - He falsified his brother's documents and made him look bad in front of important clients and the jury. 4 - He framed his brother to look crazy in front of the tribunal and his ex-wife, even though he was right, knowing very well that this would damage his brother's reputation forever. 5 - He put the Insurance company onto Chuck just to make them forget about his case, this ended up resulting into what chuck did (Season 3 finale). 6 - He tried to get his money from Sandpiper faster and ruined the life of an old lady for that. 7 - He ended up making Chuck be removed from HHM and that resulted in what happened on Season 3 finale.

In this episode. The courts would never be made to turn off all the electronics without proof from Chuck's doctors. Otherwise i loved how well the show set up their own courtroom drama. In the beginning of part 2 of this video nacho has to tough on a guy who came in light. Did you not catch that absolute breaking bad cameo? He was an upstanding dood here and in breaking bad we see him in deep with a main character in season 1 I love Nachos character in this show. His journey is one to watch

I know Jimmy is the mc and whe all love him as a character, but I don't understand why so many people ignore all his flaws and mistakes. That's what makes him interesting. He did illegal things and Chuck was right. It doesn't mattet if Jimmy loves Kim or Chuck, he commited a crime and sabotaged Chuck's carreer. You can't enter in a court and say "I did it because I love him" to defend yourself. Judges don't care about that, they only care if you committed a crime. Chuck might be an asshole sometimes and has some anger towards Jimmy, but it's kinda annoying that so many people talks like Jimmy was a perfect person and wasn't guilt. He even taked advantage of Chuck's mental illness to save himself. Bringing back Rebecca to show her Chuck in a weak position was low. You can't take advantage of personal problems to win an argument on a court. Jimmy was unethical here as a lawyer. He destroyed Chuck, as a lawyer, as a lover, as a person. His actions proved that Chuck is right about him being a lawyer. Some people may say Chuck made him this way, but as an adult you're responsible for your own actions. You can't just blame other people about your crimes for not loving you. And that's what upset me about this. I love Jimmy as a character. He's my favorite in all BB franchise, and his flaws, his mistakes, all of that makes him such an incredible and interesting character. And I don't understand how so many people refuse to accept those parts of him and try to justify every single action and blame other characters.

Tell us you’ve never been to court in your entire life without telling us. It’s never that simple. Jimmy didn’t win. He burned every bridge possible with his brother and ex sister in law to ruin Chucks reputation on purpose and his life because to be honest he was an asshole and deserved it. Chuck ruined his own career though.

'He's mentally ill, whats your excuse' Thats not an excuse. His mental illness has nothing to do with his behavior toward jimmy. He's actively malicious and he'd be that way whether he was mentally ill or not. The fact he never even stopped to consider even the remote possibility that he had made a mistake on the paperwork speaks for itself. He hates his brother and made every effort to sabotage him every time he did anything to try to change or improve himself

There is a beautiful switch that happens in the episode Chicanery. For so long with Jimmy on the backfoot against Chuck you get used to making excuses for his behaviour, like everyone around him because Chuck is being so unfair. And he is, Chuck is an asshole, but when Jimmy finally wins and manipulates Chuck into breaking down, you realise that Chuck is right about everything. And of course, you knew the whole time, and you let him get away with it.

Also, can't wait till you meet the best bad guy in the whole BB/BCS universe, arguably way more villainous than Gustavo, arguably the best bad guy in all criminal fiction, and I'd argue it. For those of you out there who know who I'm talking about and feel like arguing it, don't yet. Don't ruin it for her. Wait till she gets there, and then let the arguments flow. To you, V, to repeat, don't wait so long between postings.

Chuck is one of my most hated villains ever in a TV series. People like the Joker or Geoffrey from Game of thrones are obviously more evil but they arent real, we dont see those people ever. But Chuck.. almost everyone has met a Chuck in their life, arrogant hateful people who hide behind righteousness and make your life miserable. Seeing Chuck get that humilation is like a catharsis

If Jimmy knew his brother was suffering from mental illness and could prove it so easily, why hasn't he previously committed Chuck to a mental facility for proper treatment ?? We know Jimmy is his legal guardian. Why has he been going along with his delusions and enabling Chuck for so long?? Just bringing in groceries doesn't make someone a great brother. Both of them are terrible brothers to each other.
