My wife was in the market for a small, cheap EV, the 500 was under consideration. In the end we bought a Dacia Spring, a 45 horsepower tiny EV made by Dongfeng. If you don't mind it being entirely uncool and having no bling or wow factor whatsoever, it's a very fine little car. We managed to make it a little cooler by adding a flying unicorn farting a rainbow.

@@ElectrekGarage I can only recommend it, we've had ours for 1.5 years, put 20000 km on it and as a little runaround it's unbeatable. It's not made for long motorway drives, but I drove it to work a few times and at 120 km/h it's even nice to drive.

Volvo also sells the XC40 recharge in South Africa with the rental of a petrol model included. Twice a year I believe. It's because in this country the distances are long and the charging stations few, and the annual holiday usually consists of a long distance trip. Makes complete sense. 50 weeks in the year the EV is good enough, for the other two you rent something :-)

Awesome video! I've only seen one of these cars in real life and was able to talk to the owner. They adored their 500e and were super excited to talk about it. I love this car and I wish Fiat would bring the new 500e over to America faster.

6:00: I know its a gag, but most of the world is left hand drive....so yeah. Funny tangent, some drivers here in the US get really pissed when a small electric car (like my Nissan Leaf SV Plus) is able to pass *insert gas powered vehicle* with ease.... Anywho, love the insane game show segment!
