Very nice video with good recommendations. I've got several of these, but you've given me more pigment ideas to explore. The way you present the pigment detail is very useful and straightforward.

I skip the two pigment quin gold and just keep the two single pigments instead: nickel azo yellow and quin burnt orange. I use the DS versions of each. It is really the nickel azo yellow that gives that magical glow to the quin gold IMO. I set up a fall palette a few years ago with only ONE blue on it....DS’s cerulean blue chromium. That was a really interesting experiment. Pyrrol Scarlet (PR255) from DS is a fire engine red I love for fall color too. Your paintings are just stunning!

Thank you Tracy - for your feedback and great tips! I completely agree on nickel Azo - it is spectacular and so unique ❤️❤️❤️

Outstanding colour choice. I would add also Transparent Sienna by schmincke. I really love that colour for branches.

I keep hearing very good things about Schminke ❤️ I must try it - they just started carrying it in local art store finally 😊 thank you!!!

Great video! So relaxing! I have started painting since loosing my job and carefully invested in some quality watercolor. Schmincke, Daniel smith and Windsor and Newton. I saw some other comments on “that they are expensive”, even as a student I prefer investing in some great quality tubes. And I recommend people that can only afford ex. 25 dollars worth of paint to invest in the primary colors of a quality brand. Btw I would love a video with recommendations for Christmas wish list.
@AnnaBucciarelli4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Emma - I completely COMPLETELY agree with your thoughts and approach to buying materials. When I was first starting out [long before I was able to paint for a living] I made a point of buying mostly high quality pigments, even if it meant only having a few tubes at first. I believe my first was QOR Dioxazine Purple [which lasted me 8 years]!! The most important investment in my experience is paper :) I am very sorry to hear about your job - this has been such a difficult year and I so a bunch of my projects cancelled unfortunately as well. Hang in there - we will get through it xoxoxoxo

...oh and huge thank you - what a great idea for an art wish list video [mine used to always include brushes but now includes cold pressed paper] I will do one for sure!!! :)))

Quinacridone Sienna is wonderful for a fall palette

Oh yes! Great one for sure! 👌 I just always lean towards less “muted” reddish browns but that’s totally my bias 😊

Anna, is the woodland painting that is shown on this video on Patreon? Thanks very much, take care, David. xxx
@AnnaBucciarelli6 ай бұрын
Hi David! this is a very old one I a painted a few years before I started PATREON - I didn’t even have enough storage at the time to film in full at normal speed 😊 these days I record practically everything because I can afford the storage required - thanks to my wonderful subscribers but back then most work was never recorded or recorded in fragments.

Great video! And also, which brush is the one you used??
@AnnaBucciarelli4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Alexander! 😊 I think I used a bunch of different ones - for sunflowers for sure squirrel - one synthetic from Escoda called Perla (the one that’s red, has white hair and metal handle) the other squirrel one from Nevskaya Palitra (parents got it for me in Moscow), then for swatches I used I think real sable from Escoda called Reserva in size 3 or 4. I mostly rely on Escoda sable - real and synthetic 😊 Squirrwl is nice but too soft for me as I tend to do a lot of detailed work and need that spring in my brush. What do you use?

Anna, could you please tell us about the red "glove" on your hand? Is it to protect the painting? Or is it for your wrist? If it's for painting, can you place a link for us?
@AnnaBucciarelli3 жыл бұрын
Merri, It's a Protective Glove from Laughing Paw. Designed for digital art [as I work a lot digitally] but I find them super useful to protect paper from any dust or dirt on my hand. there are different types on Amazon: : amzn.to/2LLqcyC

Is there a tutorial or lesson for the fall foliage scene you're painting in this video? the one with the path and colorful trees?

Very informative and such a pretty palette for fall. I love your opinions of why you chose one brand over the other! The spinning of the tube actually made me really dizzy and I had to play the video in the background so I didn't get to see most of the video but at least the voice over was good :(
@AnnaBucciarelli4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Faye 😊 and sorry about the spinning!!! I won’t do that again (I got carried away to be honest having too much fun with my camera ) Have a wonderful day!!

Pink Flamingo hehe thank you! 😊 filming and editing is very tedious and takes away time from painting so i Play around with camera and forget to focus on the task at hand... gotta keep myself motivated! 😂

I want to do a large painting to hang in the wall. Should I get a canvas for watercolor or use watercolor paper then frame it? If I put in a frame should I leave the glass out? I’m wondering what everyone does for pieces that will hang on the wall. Thanks.
@AnnaBucciarelli3 жыл бұрын
Kerri, you want to get good UV glass to prevent fading, You local frame shop will recommend a range. I generally avoid canvas for watercolors. The surface is simply not the same and you technically still need glass on top to protect from fading (unless you hang it in a very dark room). Hope this helps! ❤️

@@AnnaBucciarelli Thanks so much! That advice helps a lot!

Great selection of colors! I like that you kept them “clean,” meaning not following the Moonglow, Artemis, Shadow Violet trend. Don’t get me wrong, I love and use those colors, but sometimes the “popularity” of certain colors makes you look at/for them in paintings and can take away from the subject and overall impact of a piece itself. IMO 😇. Beautiful painting. Have you tried Quin Rust from M Graham? It’s a beautiful color that dilutes to a beautiful yellow. Snagged an Amazon deal on their Quin set and am loving them. Thanks for this 🌺
@AnnaBucciarelli4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback!!! Great observation - it’s like with fashion - trendy things are just that - trendy and limited use. I was debating whether to include some of these types of unusual pigments (love myself some Moonglow ❤️) but honestly I don’t feel comfortable recommending them for a standard fall palette *although fun to use - especially if it fits ones specific style - they rarely get much “traffic” in a typical Watercolor work so I think we get less value out of them 😊 Maybe I should do a top ten 10 unusual pigments at some point... but not yet 😉💗
