I HIGHLY recommend reading the winternight trilogy during winter! The first book is called the bear and the nightingale. It takes place in Russia during (you guessed it) winter and has amazing folky, fairytale, warming yourself by the fire in the dead of winter type vibes. It is easily one of my favorite series!!

Highly recommend the Kingdom of Runes series by Audrey Grey, first book is 'Oath Taker'. Kick ass girl vibes with an enemies to lovers romance. Trope inversion - girl goes on quest to save boy, and the villain is my absolute favourite character! She also has another series: Evermore Academy - first book is 'Evermore Academy: Winter' (the books in order are: Winter, Spring & Summer - no Autumn sorry hahah) - again kick ass girl vibes, enemies to lovers romance, you basically become friends with all the characters in this series, it's great and gives me mild harry potter school life vibes but with all the angst. Breezed through both series mentioned, couldn't put the books down. Would be amaaaazing to see you review these!

Cariii!!!! When I saw A far wilder magic in the thumbnail I just knew I had to recommend this at least once. Please watch full metal alchemist brotherhood - it is an anime and a far wilder magic is kinda based off it a lot of people seem to think that it is actually a fanfiction for two of the characters from full metal alchemist brotherhood. I just know you'll love it, it's my all time favorite show like ever, if you enjoyed the world, the magic system and the characters in A far wilder magic please give full metal alchemist brotherhood a try, it also has a manga (technically just a ghrapic novel) by the same name incase you wanted to read the story instead. Also love you haha

Part of why I think A Far Wilder Magic didn't go very in-depth with the world etc is because it originated as a fanwork from Fullmetal Alchemist (it's very much it's own work, but the ties are very present in the main characters, world, and magic system)

So this recommendation is arguably a book for young teens, BUT I love it and re-read it for the dark/stormy fall vibes. The Folk Keeper by Franny Billingsley is a treasure and a quick/easy read at 162 pages, great for a reading slump. Summary from Amazon: “Corinna is a Folk Keeper. Her job is to keep the mysterious Folk who live beneath the ground at bay. But Corinna has a secret that even she doesn't fully comprehend, until she agrees to serve as Folk Keeper at Marblehaugh Park, a wealthy family's seaside manor. There her hidden powers burst into full force, and Corinna's life changes forever...” it’s angsty, there’s incredible sass from the main character, and has some thriller vibes too.
