Thanks for sharing this, Harrison. I remember them talking about coping about their mother’s deaths on Penn’s old radio show 15 years ago, it’s nice to actually see them talking about it here, and in a deeper light. Penn’s words about grief are very fitting after what’s happened today. I am definitely going to be checking out the entire interview.

I sadly never had the chance to meet him but I definitely spent many hours laughing at him. Rest in Peace, Gilbert.

One of Gilbert's jokes In honor of his passing: "How can you tell you're at a gay barbecue? All the hotdogs taste like shit."

Getting all that offensive humor out of your system helps with the grieving process. We shouldn't keep all this stuff inside of us, it's better to laugh it off. I'm glad they shared that moment together in their darkest hour, and I'm relieved no one else was around to "cancel" them for expressing their feelings.

It’s crazy to think Penn would talk about both of them’s moms died and then Gilbert died just a short time after this call 😢

I'm not saying someone's killing off all the talented comedians, but if they are at least Louis Black can rest easy
