Beautiful singing and scenery. I know how strong and capable Mongolian horses are, and with all due respect to Batzorig Vaanchig. Sir, it kind of looks like you need a bigger horse for riding!😂 Maybe check out and ride some Clydesdale, Belgian Draft, or Percherons next time you are on tour. Would love to see those adventures.

Why does the rider hold the reins so tight? I see others do it too. I am not a rider but it looks uncomfortable for the horse. Anybody?

Hi! Rider of 30 years here. Yes it's uncomfortable, you guessed right. Which is why the horse is making those "faces" There are riders who ride English, Western, Spanish styles I know and who chronically have their reins too tight. Then they end up with problems like head tossing, rearing, bucking the horse becoming "dead in the mouth" (basically ignores you.) I've studied a lot of different Mongolian riding videos on here. Often they use only a halter, sometimes nothing at all they just use seat and leg control. It just seems like unfortunate luck of the draw for the horse... They get a gentle rider or they don't. 🫤🫤 That said. I adore Batzorig's music this was just in answer to a question that struck a chord with me. 🥰💕

@@MissElven I am glad it struck a chord with you and I am grateful for your answer. I, too, enjoy Mongolian musicians and their different performances across the board. It is fun becoming acquainted with the fans who also enjoy their music. I hope our concerns for the horses have some affect too.

It’s a show and the camera person on horse (or maybe even a car) is next to his horse so it’s not a normal ride

Mongolian horses are semi-feral. It’s pretty different to ride them than other horses. As the other person said too, he’s holding the reins more tightly than normal for the song and video. It’s easy for Westerners to get paternalistic about these things, happens all the time when indigenous people do things that don’t immediately align with American and Canadian expectations
