Great video and close up. I also use my magnet seam attachment. My machine is old no digital to interfere . I have also used Karen Brown’s painters tape hack. My problem with that is where my bobbin is.

I keep 1/4” graph paper to periodically check my 1/4” seam (magnetic) guide. It’s more convenient than always having to draw a line on test strip.

Great idea! My question is why do so many put that piece of fabric under the needle when done sewing? 🤷🏻♀️
@fransak27237 ай бұрын
It is t,o prevent the machine from sucking in the fabric which happens a lot especially when sewing half square triangles. It also prevents birds nests on the bottom as you begin the seam. And some people say it saves on thread. I use leaders and Enders and then I come out with extra blocks for another project.
@merrymabelmarket7 ай бұрын
Yes to everything @fransak2723 said to you. I don't like to use "leader/enders" in videos because I don't want to confuse the viewer. But the fabric pieces (I call them "thread savors") help the machine sew happier and keeps the thread and fabric from being pulled under (into the bobbin area) by the machine.

New quilter here, I can’t understand why 1/4” isn’t marked on the sewing machines like the other measurements?
@jackielundstrom6477 ай бұрын
Thanks. How about a scant 1/4 seam?
@merrymabelmarket7 ай бұрын
Same principle. Just decide what size you want and figure it out on the foot you are using and then be consistent with yourself.
