FAQ:
What top coat/base coat do you use?
I don't have a favorite topcoat, usually I use the INM Out The Door (can be found at Sally's Beauty Supply) for swatches and the HK Girl from Glisten & Glow for manicures. My all time favorite base coat the CND Stickey. You can find that on Amazon.com or at Ulta stores.
Why do you take your picture and video swatches separately?
Since my lighting, camera settings, and tripod all have to be adjusted when switching from pictures to video, its faster, and helps keep the lighting more consistent, if I batch process all the pictures at once and then all the videos at another time. It also helps me get a feel for how to work with the polish if I do my pictures before the video.
How long do you let your nail polish dry between coats?
I wait until a coat is completely dry to the touch before adding another one. The time it takes for that to happen varies from polish to polish, but usually is around 5-10 minutes.
How long do swatch videos take you to make?
To take pictures, film, edit, and upload, it takes between 5-8 hours depending on the size of the collection.

I have searched high and low for an exact dupe of original FFF with no luck. LA colors hottie is a very close match. But! I've been able to dupe it just by mixing a few drops of a neon pink polish into the new FFF formula.

I used the original China glaze pool party when I mixed mine. I would think any neon pink would work. Just pour and shake until it looks right.

I absolutely loved this video! Neons are so hard for me to work with because they dry matte and streaky :/ I just need more finesse I guess lol. Jess what is your favorite opaque white polish? So many I've tried are streaky and it's such a staple shade

Armywife_laffoon I have an oooooold video about painting your nails in general. It's the same thing, it just takes practice to get them even. It boils down to working fast (since they tend to dry matte and matte = fast), not overworking the polish (this goes along with working fast), and painting in straight lines :)

Hi Jess. Are there 3 versions of Flip Flop Fantasy? The one I saw in Sally's today looked just like Sun of a Peach. Holly said she has the new formula which looked nothing like that one and yours looks more pink. I've looked at several pictures but I can't figure it out. I left a comment on Holly's video too because I have the one like hers.

Urban Outfitters nail polish in Love Letter is VERY close to Flip Flop Fantasy but with an easier to work with formula in my opinion

I did a dupe comparison on the old CG FFF and Salon Perfect Flamingo Flair and they are dead on dupes! I have the video still up on my channel and you can get Salon Perfect at Walmart only. Hopefully this can help!! :) Lovely picks by the way :)

How does Shocking Pink compare with Glow With the Flow or OPI Hotter Than You Pink vs say Zoya Starla which I'm wearing now and love or Orly Oh Cabana Boy which I have also? I actually want the brightest shades right now? What would you say is the brightest actual red? What would you say the brightest blue is?

Karen Reynolds I'm not sure about the brightest blue, and the brightest red (Other than the true reds that came out with the OPI Gwen Stefani Holiday collection) would be Model's Own "Cocktail Hour" (slightly coral-y, but a smidgen brighter than "Red-y To Rave") "Shocking Pink" is much brighter than "Glow With The Flow" but it's also less of a 'Barbie Pink'. I don't have the others that you mentioned, so I can't comment about those.

I bought CG Redy to Rave from when you did the swatches a few months back so I bought it. I have it on my toes for the first time right now. What's weird is that I'm 100% sure that the bottle says Redy to Rave, but it's not red at all, it's orange. And not a tomato type orange, it's almost straight up orange. I bought it when it first came out, in face, the girl at Sallys had to go in the back to get it for me, they didn't even put it out yet. So weird that yours is red and mine is orange. Not disappointed though. It's a pretty color.

Please please please talk about longevity of nail polishes in your videos. I love and watch each video that you post, but I don't buy many brands you show just because I don't know how long the nail polish is going to last on my nails. For example, china glaze peels off the next day while Essie nail polishes last longer. This kind of information is crucial in my opinion. Best wishes and congratulations on your great work!!!

Nathalie Mendoza I usually don't comment about the wear because polish wears differently on everyone depending on their nail chemistry, their application (thickness of coats, letting coats properly dry etc.), and top/base coat combination. My nails don't hold on to polish very well, so I'm not usually able to get more than 48 hours (and that's a miracle) out of a polish.
