No one drop of oil when just one pore of the wood is still open - means for me - ten or twenty "polishrounds" and then first a little oil - otherwise the wood is stained with oil ...

Are you suggesting that Olive oil can be used INSTEAD of boiled linseed oil to during the application of shellac so as to lubricate the pad??? 🥰

Yes, Olive oil is used by many French polishers to lubricate the pad during the process.
