The apartment for rent seems like a much better deal. If you can rent for 200 bucks a month or 2400 a year. Then the place would need to cost less than 24,000 for it to make sense to buy it. When you rent, the owner must pay for the upkeep and taxes, correct?

Ken & Barbie 😂 Those two (or one of them) went all politically haughty on me in the comments then got a sore butt when I pointed out some groupthink and how individual thought can provide a larger picture. It seems that the one who got hurt is entrenched in victimhood mentality. I'm surprised they haven't moved back yet.

@@TreesOnTheBeach I didn't know that, but sure can't fault em for that. I'm all for capitalism and taking advantage of opportunities. You and I would do the same. Based on the stuff they wrote me early on I'd expect them to be on the socialist end of the spectrum, in favor of rules and regulations to keep everybody in line and sharing our wealth. Maybe they came around once they realized the beauty of freedom and capitalism?

Saying capitalism screws the middle class on down is like saying cars screw the middle class on down. The beauty of capitalism is you can choose where you want to be. In socialism, it's decided for you by others who know better than you do what's best for you. It boils down to intelligence whether one prefers to chart his own course or instead simply follow the directions of others. Cheers.

@@elgringoec Nah, no second thoughts here. I didn't delete that message, but I don't see it now. Maybe Dom deleted it. The word "Socialism" has been demonized to the point where it really can't be discussed these days because everyone has a preconception of what it means. I am a fan of capitalism, with constraints. Our current system is a hybrid system, and it works fairly well, but it still needs a lot of work.

Hi there, I have lived in Cotacachi almost 8 years, I was in Salinas (the coast) for 8 months. Cotacachi is too COLD to my liking. What's the year around weather like in Banos and what about rental prices, I'm on a fixed income and need reliable ATM's as well. THANKS MUCH!

Baños also has some fun roads alrededor. Like the one entre baños y Puyo. I think those great prices are reflective of recent hard times. Great time to buy, now. We'd need a place with a trustworthy caretaker living on site so we could live there part time. Saludos!
