Not being a Grey's Annatomy fan, you possibly might not have gotten the "ghost" reference in the Doctor Sexy bit. While filming his reoccurring part of John Winchester, Jeffery Dean Morgan was also playing Denny on Greys. In the show, without giving too many spoilers, his character is also a reoccurring one that falls in love with one of his Drs and ends up passing. Much later in the series, before he was on TWD, JDM came back to Greys as Denny again, but only the Dr kept seeing him. Thinking he was a "ghost." Hence, the comment about the ghost hanging about the show.
