Lbtquenfbj+ is promoted to kindergardeners, religion is demonized (ironically) and tolerating disagreements is unheard of. It used to be like this with the Christian folk during the 90s when they had the establishment but its all flipped now. Power corrupts and the underdog is the one to point it out. I realized pretty early on that Reddit is basically like Twitter, but unlike Twitter, it can actually be helpful, like looking up Yugioh card rulings, because a children's card game can be too hard sometimes. Other than that, it's basically hell. If it were to disappear tomorrow, that day should become a national holiday. Oh, and speaking of atheists I guess, oh my GAWSH I pitty them. I've met (and argued with) quite a few, and they are some of the densest people on this entire planet, I swear. I don't know what it is, but it seems the process of becoming one robs you of your abstract thinking, situational and social awareness (like the poor fool with diabetes), and critical thinking. Like I made an artistic metaphor once saying that science is like black and white, and religion is the color, and this poor fool takes it completely literally, and it just wouldn't click for him. It must be a very frustrating existence to be incapable of thinking outside of the box.

@Tanjil Ahmed yeah, you would be correct, it is a bit unfair to say all of a kind of people are a certain way, I've also seen plenty of dumb religious people (they were dumb for different reasons though), but you must understand, this has happened _every. single. time._ and I've met almost 10 of them at this point, and they were all as I've described, except for the first one, he could actually hold a proper conversation and articulate arguments, but he still had a bit of a hard time with thinking in the abstract. I don't how this could be, but my best guess is that many of the ones that like to argue and fight are quite young, like early to mid teen years, so those skills haven't quite developed fully yet, if at all, and the actually intelligent atheists don't really care anymore about such pettiness. Hyper fanaticism could also be at fault. Like how some religious people are blinded by the light of their faith so much they can no longer see the real world, the same thing could happen to an atheist as well, which is also kinda ironic when you think about it. 🤔

@Tanjil Ahmed that is a real tragedy. I can't imagine living that way my entire life. I wish I could convince you to believe, but that isn't how belief works. What I can tell you though is that faith is not blind, nor is it something you inherently have a lot of. Faith is much like a plant; you have to water and feed it continually, and if you don't, it will die. It sounds to me like you already have some seeds of faith planted, now they need to be watered, and it doesn't take much. I found the water by looking at the natural world, and observing its beauty. I looked at the colors and the geometries of the world and in the stars above. Everything was just too perfect to be the result of coincidence, and that was enough for me to start to believe, and I continued onward. I don't know what this step will look like for you, but ultimately it is up to you to find it, if you do ultimately choose to search for it. Once you find it, you'll know, and you'll have a good idea of what to do next. And be careful not get too caught up in the big things or contradictions. Start small, and eventually the answers to the bigger things will reveal themselves, and the knots of contradictions will unwind and teach you the most interesting lessons. That is what I have learned.

As an atheist myself that just bound faith/hope to myself and my fellow human i think a lot of atheists that you met probably has a bad experience or trauma that caused by religion and its cause them to act like that or it's just because they are influenced by general society opinion toward religion ( i assume you are from korea from your name, and there are cult/religion that cause wrecks there). manner is not religion exclusive, and i would warn them because of that. I leave religion because of the emotional destruction that can be caused when 2 religion clashed with each other battling for truth, and just because of my general curiousity. but because i know if i act like an edgy atheist from reddit then i would become the very enemy that caused me that emotional damage, the edgy religious troll. Now, Im doing better than before. And unlock more perspectives towards life and humanity. The same result as you preach in the comment above. It just depends on how people rule themself I'd pass the evolution and beauty debate to the experts like Rationality Rules, and other atheist youtubers. They are the good atheist role model.

3:30 I honestly hate atheist communities myself. As an atheist, I honestly never bring it up to anybody close to me, and those of them who I've told I have never brought it up to them again. It's because communities like this paint a bad image for us. Many people claiming to be atheists just heard that it was on the rise and are trying to be trendy, leading to them taking it far enough to the point of just hating religious people. However, it is a valid point that whenever you do say you're an atheist people seem to have little to no respect for that. Any time I bring it up, (and this is another reason why I almost never do) I'm instantly flooded with reasons why my belief is wrong. The worst part about this is that none of these arguments stand up to even basic reasoning, which really just pisses me off. I think the problem is that for many people, religion is a significant portion of their life growing up and even in adulthood. For me, it never was. So when I mentioned an opposing belief to them, it seemed so nonsensical as it was as common knowledge as the color of the sky to them. I remember I got into online debating with people about it in an attempt to convince people I was right, to show them that what I thought was true wasn't just possible, but in fact reality. I gave up on that after a few months because it was clear people simply weren't willing to change their beliefs. I've since also decided to leave the atheist community. I am still an atheist, however I dislike the general atheist community as it paints a bad image of atheism. The truth is, Atheism to religions should seem the same way as any religion to any other. It's simply another belief system, except people don't like you for it because it ditches the entire basic concept of the others, making it seem very alien to people who have been raised with religion their entire lives.
