My Favorite Takeoff - Dakar (DKR / GOOY)

Not sure quite how many times I have been on this flight, but taking off from Dakar (GOOY/DKR) in the morning is my favourite takeoff. There's nothing special about runway length or aircraft performance restrictions, but the SAA flights bound for Johannesburg (FAOR/JNB) take off as the sun is rising over the beaches of the Dakar Peninsula. Many international flights are in or out of the airport in the darkness of night, but this flight's schedule hasn't changed over the years: takeoff time just near dawn. Leaving the western-most tip of Africa on either the A340 or A330, and taking off over the beach just in time to make out the early morning fisherman off the coast, and the big Renaissance statue built by North Korea...is awesome.
