Have you ever done a puzzle by White Mountain Puzzles? Do you look more for a picture you love or one that will be fun to put together?
@elien19024 жыл бұрын
For me putting the puzzle together is the most fun. I mostly get very colourfull puzzles (jan van haasteren), that have lots of things happening t the same time.
@heathercollins98594 жыл бұрын
We did this puzzle and loved it as well! The Cheerio section was the hardest. I think we share your priorities in puzzling. However as we are still on lock down we are doing puzzles that we can trade with other puzzlers. Right now we are trying to finish a Milton Bradley landscape puzzle that is all the same type of piece . Two outs and two ins on opposite sides. We call them "H's". Definitely not our puzzle of choice but it was kind of a challenge by the person who gave it to us.. All we have lest is the sky. Wish us luck.

A few days ago I figured out that getting your hands on US puzzles in Germany is not so easy. I would have to buy them in the US which leads to very high shipping costs. White Mountain designs wouldn't be something I'd buy but the cloudberries ones are interesting but just impossible to get. None on (german) ebay or amazon. I guess we have very different preferences about puzzles, only the gradient puzzles would be something I'd like to puzzle, too. The one with the pencils could also be enjoyable. The box is totally unimportant to me although I might think twice before buying a puzzle with a really ugly box. I generally am willing to puzzle every puzzle I get but I'm not willing to buy any puzzle with a picture I don't like. I only buy those with a picture I really like. Puzzle boxes take up much space so I think twice before giving the free space I have to a buzzle box. The most important for me is: picture and quality of the pieces. I don't consider it to be fun to put a picture together I don't like looking at. btw. If you want to know how to pronounce "Ravensburger" correctly watch the first stream of the Relief puzzle. I say it twice in the first two minutes.

I enjoy your channel so much because I like the same types of pictures and puzzles that you do. I build puzzles for fun, not as a challenge. And if they're fun to build, I like to build them over and over again until there are too many missing pieces. Lol I have other hobbies that I do for the challenge.

I try to balance the fun of putting together with the final image. That said, I need to take a closer look at White Mountain puzzles! I too like puzzles with sections and blocks of color. Sections with text are my favorite. Cheerio!

I have a Ravensburger puzzle called 'The Bizarre Bookshop' and that one is so much fun. Not only is there plenty of details on every piece, they're colorful, and there are different sections that each hava theme with famous book titles changed a little to match the theme. Such as a car sections with titles like '20.000 Jeeps under the sea', 'A room with a VW', 'Renault and Juliet' and 'Last Volvo in Paris'. It's details like that that make this one of my favorite puzzles because I am both a book nerd and a puzzle nerd. Win-win! Well, cheerio!

I LOVE White Mountain Puzzles, especially the collage type you talk about in this video. I was lucky that my local bookseller put in a big WMP order after Christmas so a fresh bunch were available for curbside pickup when everything was sold out online this spring. The WMPs are all worth keeping and doing again. Thanks for your fun videos Karen- I always enjoy them and how much you make puzzles fun!

I agree. Online is like the new version of mail order, but I use it sparingly due to privacy and quality concerns. I remember as a little kid getting a book club catalog at school every few months. I was always SO excited to receive those mail order books. Once a year they also had puzzles…and so the journey began.

i absolutely agree re the puzzles that are essentially a large collection of mini pictures! i really like cobble hill puzzles for that reason. i have their art nouveau tiles, nancy drew books, and tea cups puzzles for that reason. i also randomly found a great 1500 piece puzzle at target called collage time which was a bunch of vintage pattern dresses. so its more like doing 40 (or however many) mini puzzles all at once, and not slaving away at one color for hours doing trial and error.

White mountain is one of my favorite brands! I also really like their puzzle sorter it’s so simple it’s literally just puzzle lids, but I use them all the time and I enjoyed the little mystery inside doing 1000 piece without the picture. I’ve always felt gluing pieces together and displaying them on a wall looks a bit tacky; my puzzles always go back in the box.
@JudithARobinson4 жыл бұрын
This is definitely my favourite kind if puzzle! I have always loved the collage style images, or something that's quite busy. If White Mountain Puzzles are available in the UK, I can see me getting a few in the future. I also really like the lid stand - such a neat idea! I always struggle to find a good place for the lid so I can see it without it getting in the way. I'm hungry after watching this - might just go get some Cheerios!

I haven't heard of White Mountain puzzles. I love combining small puzzles too, especially because you can tailor-make them into a puzzle that suits the amount of time available! My daughter was given several small Shirley Barber fairy puzzles that could be assembled with interchangeable pieces from each one, & I love doing that! Covid-19 restrictions & border closures have caught me in Croatia, living out of a suitcase for the past eight months. I've bought three standard puzzles (Prague Castle, the Trevi fountain, & a kitten), but I really want to get something more interesting now that I've been watching your videos!

We just bought a ravensburger puzzle, and it was sooo hard! It was actually missing three pieces, but the puzzle itself is pretty dark and our table is pretty dark, so it doesn’t show up much. Usually when we search for puzzles, we find one that’s visually appealing, and then check if it has solid patches of color. We might try out the white mountain puzzles since we haven’t found any good puzzles. We might buy the small puzzles, and if that happens, I’ll probably buy the Cheerios one

Their decade series has been a big hit at the past two family reunions. i do enjoy the fun sections of their puzzles. My favorite puzzles to do are ones with lots of detailed sections so i dont get stuck or bored. Ravensberger has great puzzles like that and so do WMP. And i agree, the puzzle pieces are bigger and I need to do them on my dining room table, they FIT on my foam board which means a piece, or 5, can easily fall off. in fact the last WPM I did, i saved the edges for last. First time I EVER did that! Those cereal box ones are adorable! now I'm in the mood for some Cheerios......

I've bought a LOT of puzzles during Covid. They all include a glossy print of the completed puzzle you can use instead of the box cover. I use a document stand to hold it upright. Since my foamboard is 40" square it can sit on the board with the puzzle.

This would be one of my favorite types of puzzles too. And, like yours, many have been busy enough that I've had to run my hand over to find the empty spots. Loved your mix and match on the small cereal boxes, even the Cheerios!

Cheerios to you Karen from Costa Rica! Love the video, all reviews videos like that I loved. I usually glue and display my puzzles so I care mostly for the final image and quality. I would normally do then a White Mountain Puzzle cause their designs don’t appeal to me. Please do more videos like that reviewing more puzzle brands!
