I don't do build guides, but when I do....
Seriously though, this is not a full on every detail guide. It is a starting point of some key areas of my Warder build that I wanted to share as I know it can be helpful to others starting on Grim Dawn.

I was very big into Diablo 2 and Titan's Quest, I really disliked Diablo 4 but needed something to scratch that itch, so I bought Grim Dawn. this will be the class I play first and learn the game with. then I want to make dual pistols build. Thanks for the video and help for us newbies.

Why do you dislike Diablo 4? I know it's not a perfect game. Combat feels smooth, graphics look ok, and the campaign story is excellent. The endgame is a bit lacking. But still, it's a decent game. Best if you have friends to play with. Season 2 was very good btw. Have you even tried it yourself or you just watched a bunch of videos negative to the game?

This was actually my class for years but I kept stopping cuz I got bored again and again. But it was summoner focused instead. Having Primal Strike as my basic attack is what I should've stayed with the whole time since it's so aesthetically pleasing for me. Still in Act 4 and just cleared the Obsidian Throne but been having a blast and got 2 levels haha. Unga bunga with lightning bolts all the time is just the gameplay loop to curb my boredom and push through the game.🌩🏁

Awesome video. I like how you packed so much info into a short vid. Also really cool you gave a shout out to Arcade Life, I'm getting tons of info from him. I'm a lvl 55 pure Soldier (2hander forcewave) right now looking at Oathkeeper and Shaman to branch out. I thought I would go with O.K. in the beginning and im sure that's not a bad choice, but Shaman has so many 2 handed weapon buffs that I think there is a lot of synergy there. But, I also like having the option to deviate from mostly soldier, to mostly shaman down the road, without much item changes. Whereas O.K. primarily is sword n board. Thanks for the video👍

I've only been playing Grim Dawn since mid-July 2023 and I love this game, not only because it`s a bit "retro", but mainly because the devs did everything right imo ... my main class is my beloved Necro, here together with Occultist, very suitable for me because both followers of the "dark might" and with the many servants from both classes my Necro`s almost OP (currently 8 Skeletons, the Blight Fiend, the very effective Wraith from "Reap Spirit" and from the Occultist the Raven and the Hellhound and then two different Guardians triggered randomly from the appropriate gear, so 14 in total if all goes well) ... my Necro can almost do without using a weapon, the servants do their job and scrub away everything via "Creature Attack", then imo everything works fine with this build and its basic idea for a Necro build, no matter which game ... now, this let's say "Lightning Warder" build made me very curious and that's why I started to test it ... so far even at level 32 it's effective, even against slightly higer leveled foes and bosses, and lots of fun too, ok, all these skills shown in this video are activated, but of course not yet leveled that high ... so far I've been using a two-handed axe as the default main weapon for this build, but if a foe is really mean then I use a rifle for long-range combat, currently the one that throws a net that ensnares and constricts the target, the epic "The Huntsman", very nice ... by the way, without this video I wouldn't have even thought that you can assign certain attack skills of the respective class to these two triggers for the standard attack 1 and 2 ... and again I learned something very important 😉 ... so, thanks for sharing 👍

@@BaamGames thanks for pointing out the upcoming new patch... and yes, I like Grim Dawn a lot... and omg, this "Warder" is getting stronger and stronger, currently level 72, he's now scrubbing away everything that comes, but I've got that build slightly adjusted to my preferences ... but since a few days I noticed that the game crashes more often, I`ve no idea why, I didn't change any of the settings many greetings from a new subscriber

I just started a warder build. I have the totems for now. You can throw both down at the same time pressing both hot keys together. Makes it a litter easier to have them up.

i only use wendigo to heal. Also i use a shield, put as much items, devotions, augmentations etc on hp first, shield, heal procs, then reflect/ retaliation, and obviously all resistances to 80%. You Can end up with 43.000 hp, didn't see other equipment yet to get higher. and ludricous damage on the reflects (400.000 as of last weekend;-) ). It is a bit slow at the start and some ranged fights are slow. but he just doesn't die lol. unless you stand still on one of those area of effect eather things etc. su

I started with warder and I must say its very cool to look at all the skill effects 😆 . I personally don't use primal strike. I use savagery and wendigo totem along with wind devil. In another warder build I use TEMPEST constellation in devotions and use a dual wielder relic to use two different one handed mythical equipment . GREAT VIDEO !!

I play melee vindacator. Couple points in upgraded wendigo drop winds drop inq seal face tank. Aura of censure is so much better than stormcallers. Word of renewal is a great buff as well

I went full savagery instead and invested alot of points in Upheavel. Primal Strike is only fun while levelling but when it comes to late/deep end game it's very lackluster.

@@GreyDeathVaccine yes. One pointer. But as of the latest 1.1.9.8 patch, i think Primal Strike has been buffed as the Ultos Set now converts more physical damage to lightning and adds slightly more flat damage to Primal Strike, although it will be reduced due to the thunderous strike penalty.

I know I go for sailors guide first and then go after kraken soon as possible. Then I aim to get spear of heavens, then ultos last. What order the minor ones are in though honestly I couldn't say.

My first class was an ultos druid. I use weapon swap range and full ultos. One of the keys with the build is sacrificing one if your rings for a life leech ring, making sure you have a good life leech mi pants (second hidden path boss) amd grabbing fox, ghoul amd frog for the bonus 11% life leech. With windago dropped, youll have like 35% life leech, amd with full ultos, you can tank pretty much everything. Offensive mirror to drop totems and refresh wind devil, save cluster for safety

@@BaamGames melee builds usually need 2 of the three: flat/percent damage reduction, high life leech and high health to just sit around and swing. 4 ultos + ranged MI is great too (especially because you can use hydra) Another melee option, if you can get a stormrend (at least 1, though only 1 might be best) and DW with a medal or use a shield. 1h primal strike warder was something I was looking at for the league (to build into)

Getting massive hp, da, damage reduction and pretty good life leech, with retal damage, counter strike damage and Savagery spam (with retal added to it, and some weapon pool skills for additional damage)

The other option is not to go retal and go 1h + shield primal strike, probably a bunch of MIs, like the %oa/da to storm callers pact, or 4/5 ultos

Honestly I have had limited success with summons. I had an ok bout with a raise skeleton build a while back (until a roof killed him on hardcore) but I don't really like thier play style. Death Knight and warder (how I play them at least) usually have 2 hand weapons, a single core skill with 1 or 2 support skills. I then pile on as much passive skills and auras as possible. My warder has 5 passive auras up when playing for example.

Did you notice any issues with movement while using the gun builds? I was having this issue while using them but not sure if it has to do with the guns themselves. I would basically just get stuck in place while trying to move around with guns in hand.

Try putting MOVE on your left mouse button so you always have access to a movement option. If you have a skill there you will only move if you do not have anything targeted.

Same here, let's see how you made it. i haz 43.000 hp and 400.000 max damage. Its just insane hehehe. Called him Dreadnaughty His own weapon doesn't do a lot, its mostly reflection etc. using 1 totem to heal, warcry a good 1 point. But mostly its hp, hp, hp, hp. Some procs heal% health so with 43k..... he just refuaes to die

How do I find blueprint mythical ultos hood? I'm playing in ultimate mode but I can't go on because I'm too easy to die.

Unfortunately there is no blueprint for the mythical, it is a random drop from anywhere. I personally was able to run Steps of Torment on ultimate ok with my warder and so I just stacked up on keys and did run after run. It still took me months to get all 5 pieces. Remember that you can transmute them, so if you get 2 hoods drop, pick the worst one and transmute it.

Thank you for this build, I just love how flashy it's. One thing I don't quite get it is: You use Primal Strike for main dps and Savagery for healing and sustain against tough enemies correct? As the Tenacity of the Boar will be triggered upon using Savagery?

The defensive, offensive and healing of TotB happens whenever you have stacks of Savagery up. The lightning part only affects Savagery though. Glad you're liking thr build!

Hellow right now i havent selected a secondary class BUT is it possible to respecc and chamge ur classes too? ( cause right now im following a primal strike druid buuld from 6 months ago or so and i got grimdawn like years ago but im rly enjoying it right now for the first time actualy with a budddy of mine we just hit act 3 but idk if i should build this or the other one that said im completely ( new ) so idk where to farm and what not after i am done with the campaign maybe u can point me in the right direction somehow cause this looks faster aswell but idk what endgame content u did or if this is better or not cuz i am a ARPG vet but this still feels like im a complete newb cuz i havent gotten much info about stuff yet ( sorry for the wall of text ) hope u can help me tHO

Unfortunately you cannot change class in the game, but honestly, levelling up another build is really fun so do not let it put you off. This build relies on the Ultos set which you can get the non-Mythical version from a vendor in the Ancient Grove dungeon. You need to be level 75 to use it though. You can use the vendor to get the blueprint for the helm, and then make 5 of them, and transmute them into other items from the build. Whilst levelling keep your resistances as close to 80% (or over by overcapping) as possible, and hunt Primal Strike gear. There are weapons, chests and shoulders that give you additional primal strike points. They will drop whilst levelling. I hope this helps.

I'm in elite mode now. Looking to upgrade my Korvan halberd. Should I farm this in elite mode or can I just farm in normal mode for it? Does it make a difference on which difficulty I farm these items for?

Honestly, I would keep pushing the leveling and new items will come. Around level 90 is when I normally start to think about where things are and what I may want to farm for level 94 versions.

@@BaamGames Thanks for the reply. I did go on playing in elite so far. But I was just wondering if it makes a difference where you farm the halberd. In other words, is there a difference between finding a level 90+ weapon in normal mode vs finding a level 90+ weapon in elite mode? Because if it makes no difference and the weapon will have the same stats etc, then it should probably just be easier to go to normal real quick, farm it fast as you're killing faster and then go back to elite...?

@@ichiwo1526 it's far better to farm a higher level as you're far more likely to get a decent drop. You get higher chance to get empowered and mythical weapons too. Of course, sometimes dropping to elite from ultimate makes sense every now and then to juat farm easier, but elite to normal, in my opinion, not really.

Items have stats that be dependent on the naming of the item, so they are not random in that instance. However, you will get a random stat number of that stat based on min and max allowed.

On this build I bought the blueprint for the non mythical set helm within the ancient Grove. I then transmuted the helm into the rest of the gear.

@@BaamGames one thing I don't like about the game is how long it takes to level up and then only being able to get legendary drops at like level 50, I'm aware you can buy something that makes you level up faster but that also takes a while to unlock

Leveling is fast with shaman, but just ensure you have resistances up as they can be squishy
