I always admire your humor as much as I admire your collection, don't stop being you sir. I wish I could fly my own kites along side you one day, it's hard to find people who share the passion where I am.

Thanks Jim - your vids bring enjoyment to all of us (particularly during winter near the US/Canadian border when kiting is clearly off-season). Another solution is to repurpose snowboard bags - moderately larger capacity (1.5x?), certainly longer, multiple extra large pockets for lines and parts,, similar solid construction with durable (comparable to ITW material and more than capable of slogging, dropping, and throwing around ski resorts!). Similarly, snowboard bags have strong handles and shoulder straps and are constructed to handle heavier contents. In summary, more capacity, longer, stronger - and something to consider, similarly priced - but notably better value if 'used'. Thank you for all you do..

I use a large ski bag, 8 ft long, so I don't to fold up the long ones, like the Delta Coyne

That would just about hold my collection. I have a camping chair bag that is doing the day job of bringing the few that are actually stored in a collapsed state as I usually have a few that are always assembled hanging in the living room. ITW is innovative and makes a great product!!!

They've been making that bag for many years, Darren, so it's well proven. I know from experience that it's very durable. I like to keep some kites assembled too. Assembling them at the flying area just takes up good flying time!

I keep my Tangle Shank in my back pocket & it doubles as a life saving device too against unruly kites! I bought this bag for my wife last year because it was nicer than the one I bought her 25 years ago & because I could use her old one for storage.

What a fun and informative clip this time, Jim. I have seen several bags on line and toyed with the idea of making one some day if I find a good pattern. But this one could certainly go on the wish list from the family.. as long as they get one with a knife pocket..ha ha..

Hello again, Jim. That's my favorite bag as well. In fact, it's my only bag. My goal is to have enough kites so the bag will keep its shape when I carry it. That will take while. This thing really is "capacious." P.S. Only yesterday did I discover the two zippered pockets on the inside. See ya!

Jim, I finally know your secret to getting all those kites to the field you fly. Thanks for for sharing. Also thanks for the reminder on how I initially learned about you on KZbin when you used to do Demo video for Into the Wind that were so helpful. I really liked those videos especially when I was fortunate enough to be visiting the store on a regular basis for a couple of years and buying a lot of their kites. I don't have this particular bag but it certainly does look useful. What do you do with all your Soft Kites that come in stuff pockets like the Trilobites, Frogs, Ladybug, goldfish, and parafoils etc?
@JimNicholls4 жыл бұрын
The videos I made for Into The Wind are all still there on their KZbin channel, of course. I've done none in recent times because they have had no new products to show, because of an upheaval in their manufacturing facilities. That might change soon as there are new products on the way, I hear. I'll show sometime how I store and carry the soft kites and line laundry.

@@JimNicholls do you ever leave your kites outside in the bags in the Summer or do you always carry them in. I have started to leave some of my bigger kites out in the back of my truck during this past winter and they seemed to be fine in my kite bags since the bed is covered. But with summer coming on, I don't know if that is such a good idea as I don't know how the heat will affect them. Our winter is mild and I did bring them in when snow was in the forcast. But it sure was convenient having them ready to go.

My car is always full of kites, which takes some of the load off my house. The car is in the garage, so no worries about leaving the kites there.

@JimNicholls4 жыл бұрын
I think I have four, Mark, certainly nowhere near enough to hold even a fraction of the kites I own. A lot of my kites don't fit them, but usually I just pick out what I'm wanting to fly and fill one of the bags before I go out to fly.
