Your camera mike is picking up too much direct sound, rather than via your amp. For your videos I would suggest DI'ing your sax/FX through a mixer, as the effected sound was barely discernable.

When you hit the harmony pedal did you say it added an octave below? If it did could you tell me how to set the VE20 to do this please?

Hello. I am a complete beginner on alto saxophone who plays at church and get a few invitations to gigs. The only thing I know is the Major Scale and I've been getting by with it but I feel like I need to improve my playing. Music is so vast such that I don't know where to go from here
@rustOfunk6 жыл бұрын
Bayanda Dlamini Listen, listen, listen. Listen to the players and styles you want to sound like over and over and over. The same song over and over and over. Structure would be very beneficial to you. If there is a community concert band that has written music that would be great. Private music lessons would be great too. I’m guessing you’re not from the US. Most wind players get their start in school band programs. We spend years reading music before we get a chance to improvise. But listening will be key for you. Then hours of trying to play EXACTLY what you hear on those recordings. You’ll end up hearing those songs hundreds of times easily. Good luck!

Hi Chez, great video on Boss VE20. Are there any settings documented (how to set them up) so I don't have to go through the manual?.....Nope, not lazy, just in a hurry - got a Monday night gig coming up and rehearsal tomorrow. Need to have some settings for use.

1) What does EQ mean 2) How do you connect to the speaker/amp as it’s not shown in the vid 3) What’s the box next to it ?Is it some kind of interface /mixer or is that the speaker /amp ? I have this pedal at home and a mic and I want to know what else I need to get to get it to work. Thanks

Just purchased the VE-20 to use with my sax, great to see this video as I am looking for the right settings. I'll be sharing with the band at rehearsal tonight, hoping that on the tunes with horn sections, like superstition, that I'll get a much bigger punch.

Hi Chez, I play Tenor in a band with a guy who doubles on Trumpet and Trombone. We have the harmonies and our parts worked out for two instruments but quite often he will drop us for another gig. Is the ve-20 a good option for me to use when Im the only horn player ?

That’s such a unique microphone system Chez. Nice color too. Looks like it’s somewhat wireless too so you don’t have to wear the transmitter pack on your clothes somewhere. I’ve seen numerous other male and especially female saxophone players use a sax mic system like that. I know those are real good cause you get the ability to move around on stage more often during your live sax playing performance. Hopefully you can make more videos using the sax mic system cause I noticed a lot of your videos just feature the saxophone with no microphone put on it. Of course I know the best key to a clip on microphone for any kind of saxophone is trying to stick or put it in the best spot on the bell of the sax to get the best balance of sound. I always thought right in the middle of the sax bell was the best part despite most sound from a saxophone comes from the many openings on the middle of the instrument where you play it with your fingers. Either way awesome vid. Made my day just watching it. ❤️ 💋

When doing my chromatic scales the C# key pad does not open but when I open the pad with my finger the key moves but when I press it again the pad stays closed do I need to oil it somehow?
@cheztaylorsax7 жыл бұрын
Hmm...sounds like it's sticking. Pretty common, especially on sopranos. You can do a cheeky clean up job. Check out this video, it talks about repairs; kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGi3np6wj7iamK8

I brought it in to the sax repair and all that was wrong was the spring came off something when I dropped it he did not even charge me after all I let him fix it after the fall and I guess he missed it. Thanks Chez. Pete

Buen video Chez, Boss ve- 20 es un buen pedal... pero tiene un pecado mortal, al cambiar los efectos en tiempo real no es inmediato e impide ocupar varios efectos en una misma canción. Saludos de Chile!
