As a chinese person I believe that chinese med contails various herbs and barks but also perhaps dried blood and deer horn powder...depends on thr brand. Look into it

Love this!! I always get teased for feeding my horses so many supplements, but you've got a few more! :) Have been looking at hemp oil for a bit, thinking I will give it a try!

Honestly Nicholas, he feeds hay! His horses get grain when he needs to catch them out of the big field and thats about it lol

How much hay do you feed during winter? Do they free range round bales or do you feed square bales?
@MaddiKempf6 жыл бұрын
A bit of both! I have a round bale for my young horses right now to free feed on, it’s a grass alfalfa mix. I also feed squares, I couldn’t tell you how much hay I feed by weight, but my mares get 3-4 flakes of grass morning and night, and a flake of alfalfa in the morning. They get more alfalfa in the summer when I’m riding lots! During the winter I try to keep grass hay in front of them at all times.

Do horses have to be on supplements? Is it bad for them if not on any??
@MaddiKempf6 жыл бұрын
Honestly its not bad to be without them, but I like mine to be on extra things because they travel a lot and work very hard. It just depends on the horse and what their job is!

Hi my name is Lexi I was just wondering if you ever fed sugar cubes to your baby horses after they have eaten all of there suplements as a reward?
@MaddiKempf5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lexi, no I haven’t! Usually they love their supplements and have no problem gobbling them up 😊
@carolinewilson63316 жыл бұрын
I had a question! Let's say you're at a rodeo or barrel race, and you end up running the same time you would normally feed. Would you feed before you run or after?
@MaddiKempf6 жыл бұрын
Hi Caroline! I am not very good at keeping a time schedule for feeding, simply because my life changes so frequently! I prefer my horses to eat before I run, so if I'm up early in slack or something I'll get up extra early (sometimes 4am) to give them time to eat, then remove them from their feed 2-4ish hours before I run.
@theluckyequestrian5 жыл бұрын
That must cost you a lot of money to feed all that supplements.
@MaddiKempf5 жыл бұрын
I am lucky enough that a lot of my supplements are sponsored to me. The ones I have to purchase are worth the investment! It is an art to keep these competition horses feeling their best!
