I just bought two for my wife and I. As for the storage lid I bought some car/marine weather stripping with adhesive backing. I also bought some marine caulking. The most vulnerable spot is the back side of the lid where water will run directly into the compartment so I put a strip on the yak itself and one the lid to sandwich together. I used the caulking for added adhesive of the weather stripping. The whole thing seals up super nice. Just thought I’d share if you haven’t thought about it.

Hey. I finally saw somewhere where a lady was mentioned. I am a shorter medium build gal, and have been researching a sit-on-top for a hot minute. We mainly do large creeks and small rivers in our area-sometimes we do a smaller lake. I have used my husbands as well as friends which are probably comparable in size to this, but not quite the same specs (10'). I have been on the water-canoeoing/yaking/rafting my whole life, so the basics is not what I am asking about. More so- is it dead in the water, spin out constantly, manuverability through swift water/rapids, etc... and how is your box seal holding up?

Finally received my Moken 10 v2 after mire than 8 mos. No doubt the pandemic contributed to the delay. I've been on the lake about a dozen times. Flipped it once trying to stop an escaping fish. Easy to turn back over and get back on. Love my kayak.

I bought two…. Wife and I first timers. Took them out for first time last weekend!!! Super pleased. Made some preventative measures for the compartment and the rudder kit I installed. Look up “FeelFree moken 10 V2” I’m sure you will come across the video. Happy paddling!!!

Wow that is crazy! I hope you get it soon.Kayaks especially the nice ones are so hard to find the past year or so. So far I love it. I have only taken it out on the water twice so far but so far so good. I am looking to take it out probably this weekend. I think I will end up doing a video after that to talk about what I think of it after having it on the water and fishing in it.I already have a couple mods in mind already. Make sure you pick up some YakAttak uni-track adapters for it if you plan on adding any accessories to the tracks.

Having a hard time deciding between a Moken 10 and the Lure 10. The seat is big factor, but I just saw on another video where a guy did a DYI pvc frame to fit into the seat adjustment slots and strapped the seat to it. That way he could raise his seat higher. I'm thinking the extra money for the seat is better spent on a rudder system.
@markdoutdoors79653 жыл бұрын
Oh wow I have not seen that. That may be a good idea! The only other thing I would say is that the Lure is a tad wider so it should be a little more stable if you plan to stand, then you have the hatch on the front for storage. Also if you plan on adding a fish finder the Lure has the removable POD to make it easier to run your transducer wire underneath. But the money you save by getting the Moken you could get the rudder like you said. I heard they do track much better with the rudder.

Picked up my Moken 10 v2 in person last Friday. Same color as yours. I've taken it out 3 times already and love it. The only thing I can't do as well as I hoped is stand in it. I can stand for a few seconds but my legs strain so much to maintain balance, I have to sit right back down. There's no way I could cast standing up. What's been your experience standing in it?
@markdoutdoors79652 жыл бұрын
I felt the same way. I loved it but I ended up getting a Recon 120 because I like to stand and fish and wanted something more stable. We still own a Moken and my wife loves hers. It paddles great.

Nice man im a sub i got one for my fishing channel as well be here in four weeks. Can’t wait to see what you think of it on the water. Can i ask tho why dose it have a drain plug if it has no dry storage how dose water get inside the hull.
@markdoutdoors79653 жыл бұрын
You know that is a good question lol. It probably does because there are so pre drilled holes for the beaver rudder system that Feel Free Provides. They are plugged but I guess just in case. Also if you drill into it attaching an anchor trolley or other mod and water gets in somehow you got the drain plug just in case.

I’ve got a Lifetime Teton too. How does the moken paddle compared to the Teton? Is it faster? Not only that, I have the same PFD you have! Does the moken’s chair hit the PFD in all the wrong places like it does on my Teton?
@markdoutdoors79653 жыл бұрын
For an inexpensive fishing Kayak the Teton doesn’t paddle that bad but the Moken is a much better paddle. The Moken is faster than the Teton but it is not a super fast boat. The Moken tracks better but if you plan on fishing in a current I would recommend getting the Beaver tail rudder to help to steer without putting down your fishing pole. The stability is leaps and bounds better that the Teton. As far as the chairs and the PFD go they are very similar in size so it would probably hit around the same area. If you are looking to upgrade your Teton and are looking to possibly get a Moken 10 ( if you can find one) I would say it is definitely worth it.
