Cameron, I don't know if you know my son, Sam Collins, but he's also FTM and came out to the world this year. I'm sorry you had a bad response (initially) from your mom and stepdad. Being a mom to a transgender kid, I know it was very difficult when Sam first told me but I never disrespected him or tried to "talk him out of it". I'm glad to see that you are doing alot better and I'm glad you are still here. Take care. I'm going to watch more of your videos :) Mama Collins

It breaks my heart that people do and say those things to their children. I have a 13-year-old stepdaughter, but she's *my daughter*. All I want is for her to be happy, especially as a teenager. As parents we obviously want the softest, easiest path for our children, but if any of my little ones ever said 'Mommy, I don't want to wear a dress, I'm a boy,' or my son says 'I want to wear a dress today,' or either of our eldest girls said 'Mum and Dad, (they're British, raised in the UK, like their dad) I feel like a boy and I want to live as a boy,' it might catch me off guard, but the first thing that pops out of my mouth will probably be 'Yeah? Ok. We love you.'

I feel exactly the same about my kids. They're still pretty young, but I just want them to do and be whatever brings them happiness. Isn't that a parents job? (one of the many jobs anyway) I am crying so hard reading through these comments from all these kids whose parents just don't get it. I'm so sorry for all of you. My best advice would be to try and get your parents to agree to get you in with a good therapist. First, therapy is just a good thing in general. Second, they can help you think through, organize, and understand what you are experiencing and feeling. Third, they can advocate for you to your parents/guardians. Hearing about transexuality from an educated, professional adult whom specializes in the mental and emotional health of your child may be more convincing to them than hearing it from their child them self... (although I would always trust my own child over anyone else... I guess some don't ) I hope that this can help someone. Good luck and remember that you are all valid, amazing human beings no matter what anyone (including your parents and families) think or say! I love all of you for exactly who you are even if I don't know you! Things DO get better. I promise. I attempted suicide MANY times when younger, but I truly love my life today... It gets better.

my mom is not taking me serious. I have to wear lots of makeup because my boss wants me to do it cause we're working in the beauty industry. Ond day I came out of my room and my mom looked at me and she was like "Woooooow" I said "you know that I have to and you know that I don't want this". I just started crying the whole shit off and she asked "honey what's wrong?" I responded that I just don't want to wear it and that I feel very uncomfortable. She was like "yeah but you liked makeup when you were younger and I don't know what just happend right now. your hormones are going crazy I was going through this too when I was at your age" this had me cry even more. She still calls me Livia, she/her and daughter and I want to cry every single time. I am not Livia. Livia is the mask that I put on every day because everyone wants me to be the girl. Okay and now I want to cry again.

Does she think that being gay for example is just a phase too?
@liviadrewzilla8 жыл бұрын
juliazwei Fun fact; no. I don't really see why being gay is more serious than being trans.
@devilssemblance59388 жыл бұрын
Livian Hardin see, my mother was the same way, and I've only just started gender therapy after a two year battle with her, not to mention attempts to come out multiple times in the years prior, and I know it seems like it will NEVER improve, that things will NEVER get better, but as a trans guy who was in a very similar position, you eventually just have to realize, "holy fuck. am I actually willing to risk bringing myself to suicide in order to appease those around me?" and once you reach a breaking point, it gets better. you can be true to you, and it WILL be difficult, goddamn will it be hard, let me tell you. but once you finally, finally get at least one parent to accept that this is *REAL* that you need to be taken seriously, you'll feel so much better. my mother doesn't see me as her son, not yet, but she sees that what I'm dealing with is valid, even if she wants to deny it. eventually, you have to put your well-being above the comfort of others and realize that you are worth it. because you are, and you deserve better than the misery your situation is bringing you.

I hang out with my friends and laugh but it hit me Friday that I really wasn't happy with the life I am living and that girl everyone sees isn't truly happy. I told my family an they were okay with me being bisexual but when I asked them to cut my hair boyish and transition they freaked and told me how I'm a domination and going to hell. I just need advice on how to deal with this and advice on this. This was hard to write this bc it's a touchy subject but yeah xc you say it will get better but right now I have to pretend to be something and someone I am not.

Hi! If you feel that you're a boy it's because you're a boy, no matter what other people think or say. It's perfectly normal and okay. The most important thing is your happiness, and your family and friends should realise that. It's very common that they don't understand it at first but progressively they will, don't lose hope. And if someone doesn't accept it and doesn't want you to be happy they aren't worth it. Just don't give up, you're strong and there are many people like you. You are not alone and you deserve all the love.

Thank you for sharing your story, it is so inspiring. It was so good to hear that the story ended on a positive note. Also, I loved the way your voice changed to a more hopeful one once you started to talk about how things were getting better.

Thanks for sharing the story. I'm sorry you've had such a rough life :/ I've been wanting to change for a long time, and seeing this video lets me know it's possible. But I have no idea what to do. How did you start changing?

Depending on your state, you might have to talk with a gender therapist first. But otherwise, look for informed consent clinics within your area. I'm learning myself too, but those can work without having to go to a gender therapist first.

You have no idea how less alone your story made me feel. Almost everybody that I know (who is lgbt+q) always seem to have nothing but acceptance stories... my parents arn't really that way. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing because it really did help me. I respect you for getting through that, and I found comfort in your story because I finally felt that I could relate to someone. I just- I had to say this. Thanks.

you are such a role model for people and parents who judge people for being trans. also your friend doesn't deserve you as a friend and your dad is just an idiot, but you should not try to kill your self and thank God your still here as a big insperstion for many people trans and not trans thank you, you really inspired me because I never new about being transgender and if anyone else told me they would have turned it into something bad. I think many people agree with this and thank you and continue making videos and be proud😁😁😁 all the best from CANADA!!!!🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

I looked up " How to look masculine and be a girl " and this video came up. The website said look for a role model and then I looked at videos and this one came up... I'm not joking the where he said I didnt have a lot of friends and looked to online friends and not knowing what trans meant.... and the journey to realizing you want to be trans like me. I think I found my inspiration in what I want and will make me happy. Thank you so much!

OMG, this is the best video I've ever seen from an LGBTQI community! It is so sincere and special! I am so glad you are happy and in charge of your own life right now. I think nothing can compare with that feeling of freedom and ability to just do whatever you want! Thanks a lot for sharing your story; as you can see it inspires and motivates a lot of people. You look very handsome and I wish you all the best!!! Never give up and forget what other people think; your own choices matter more to your life than anything else.
