Gotta say I didn't see this coming. Sometimes you just expect things to work, that wasn't the case here. Honestly this problem shouldn't be a problem, I would expect this to be a non-issue in modern day cars of any calibre.

To all who say the door being opened killed the battery, the fact that the window didn't go down when the door was opened and subsequently left open proved that the battery was already drained and dead before the door was opened. On to the next mystery.
@WhatsAl2k
@WhatsAl2k 7 жыл бұрын
superspeedersRob with the key coming not recognized and the window not coming down I'd def agree with the battery being dead. However I've always been told any high performance car like Ferraris ect should always be on a tender. Also, I know a few years ago you guys didn't but do you deliver from Philly to Pittsburgh? I'd return it to Philly.

superspeedersRob Use simple logic. The door was not closed completely so the window didn't lock in either. The battery died. So when you did close it completely the window didn't lock in because the battery was dead. Simple. It was definitely the door not being closed all the way.

yeah people don't keep their POS honda accord stored in a garage for months without fuel stabilizer. biggest enemy of an engine is idleness... by far. the manufacturing tolerances of a Ferrari are actually a bit better than most cars, meaning if they were daily driven, they'd last just as long with proper maintenance.

My 07 4.0L Mustang does that with the window. I can only let it set about 1 week without starting it or I have to charge the battery. As for the newer car running down the battery faster than the older one it makes sense when you think about how many more sensors and transmitters the newer car would have in it placing a larger drain on the battery.

Lambhorgini's stand out more. Their buying cars for looks. Lambhorgini's physically look better, and turn more heads. Aventador alone looks better than any Ferrari, excluding the million dollar plus Ferrari's, and even then, those Ferrari's look odd. Its Ferrari's fault that Lambhorgini even exists in the first place. Lambo's are for the highest level of head turning attention.
@tedl2711
@tedl2711 7 жыл бұрын
John Smith Lamborghinis are beautiful also. But the internal parts of the 10 cylinder version are shared with the Audi and the doors don't even open like a Lamborghini should. And the Aventador is so far behind the times it is annoying to drive in a city. So do you want an Audi with a Lamborghini "wrap" or do you want a new car with 15 yr old parts pissing you off every time you drive it in town? Every super car has issues. And really if you look at it every car has issues. Making a car with that many moving parts work perfectly every time is a challenge.
@ND001X
@ND001X 7 жыл бұрын
Me YesMe I'll take the Gallardo. I can get one used for $70-90K. I'd love to get the Aventador, but its just too high in cost and maintenance. I'll rent the Aventador, just to get it out of my system. The Gallardo fits better, possibly the best fitting Lambhorgini ever made (from a consumer perspective), and having Audi parts, makes it that much better for me.

The windows roll down a bit when the battery gets low so you dont shatter the window trying to open it when its dead and cant roll the windows down. Somehow the battery drained, windows went into "protection mode" and once it has power it will reset itself.

great vid . does the instrument panel indicate that that your battery level is low ? or are there any signs of electrical problems prior to it not being able to start it at all.?

Nice and convenient as to where Ferrari has the battery tender plug in now. Mine is behind the driver's seat. I have to roll the window down and reach in and down to plug in the cable.

Wow that a hard to get to battery. Imagine this thing in a tight garage and you trying to get the jumper leads to the battery. It would be easier to acces in the Front. But that battery tender solution is cool.

most newer vehicles now have a timer where the interior lights will shut off after so long i have left my car open over night one time and it fired right up and that is also the advantage of living in a nice area lol

I wonder if on the newer cars with all the electronics if they just have more draw. My car is constantly sending data to OnStar and stuff, so I'm sure that is using a bit of battery power while it's just sitting there

Porsches have a similar battery drain issue. In fact, the owners manual goes so far as to say that the warranty on the battery is voided if the car is not used frequently or a maintainer is not used.
@Mpayne

Haha! already taking better care of your cars! that 488 is a beast but that is a shame about the parasitic drain. Ive noticed when the battery gets below a certain voltage on anything modern it can trip the alarm. If the battery tester is saying the Ok then try connecting a multimeter in series with the battery and the earth cable. check with the manufacturer to find out what typical current draw should be once it has had time to sit for about 30 mins if you totally disconnected the battery.

Does it have gps positions system as part of the security? These things are know to drain battery out in weeks. If not then there's a leak somewhere and the whole electric system needs an overhaul.
