TLDR; No there's no actual NTR, Liu Ruyan has no feelings for Jibdao, nor is she attracted to him in any way. She considers him a friend, and her marriage to him was faked. She got a marriage contract with him because his grandmother wanted to see him marry a girl before she died. There was no marriage ceremony, just a certificate which had a prenup to end in 3 years. OK, I'll explain what's going on for those who wanna know if this is ntr or aren't able to follow because of bad translation: Here's the story in its timeline up to the opening act: The main character is the young master of a wealthy family and Liu Ruyan (The girl of a nearby family) plays with him often, to the extent their parents agree to marry them together. As kids, he always caves in and treats her sincerely, and she is very immature. The family knows he's suffering unneeded grievances from her, so they treat him very nicely, and the mc promises to love her for a lifetime. The father and mother of Liu Ruyan are thrilled with him as a son in law because they see him as someone who could love and spoil their daughter. Eventually it's found he's the fake young master of his prestigious family, and is quickly kicked out. Was it a baby room mixup? It's not explained. The "grandpa" of this family (who always sincerely cared for him) was told the mc left on his own, which causes him to be sad. Mc leaves with nothing. However Liu Ruyan's family took the mc in, and supported him for years. Liu Ruyan had no problem with this, and was ecstatic they could live closer together. The translation doesn't make it clear how many years he was at the other family, how long he was at Liu Ruyan's house, etc. The mc, Liu Ruyan, and one other girl play together as often as they always do, and eventually play in a forest causing an animal to attack. (I forgot if it was a boar or bear) The mc risks his life to save Liu Ruyan and one of her friends from it and he was badly injured, to the extent he needed emergency treatment and it took him 3 years of effort to heal. When he's first flown off to a hospital in a foreign country, Liu Ruyan wants to contact the mc, but the parents fear she'll distract him from his healing process or something so they keep her away from him. Liu Ruyan gets depressed and feels sad, so she goes to a bar and gets drunk. A few guys seem to want to take advantage of her, and Jibdao, the antagonist, rescues her. He acts extremely nice to her, and even takes a beating from the bar fight. Over a few months, he talks to her frequently and makes her soups when she's sick. Eventually he brings up his sick grandmother and asks her to visit. He "fills in the gap" mc left behind as a friend. The grandmother mistakenly assumes Liu Ruyan is his girlfriend, and keeps saying "I wish I could live to see the day my grandson got married." This is why she signs a contracted marriage license with him, for 3 years, to show the grandma character that her grandson is married and make her feel at peace. On top of that Liu Ruyan offers large sums of money to help pay for the grandmother's treatment. Eventually they become good friends. What she doesn't know is that the grandma is a perfectly healthy elderly woman (at least for her age) who was paid off by jibdao to scam money out of Liu Ruyan. The bar scumbags were hired thugs by jibdao to manipulate the friendship into starting. Liu Ruyan was so used to the MC being understanding and forgiving to her each time she made bad decisions, she took him for granted. She did not cuckhold the mc, kiss anyone, etc. I don't think she even held his hand. Nothing intimate happened, and that's why she's so casual about doing this; in her mind it's not a big deal because it's all fake just to put an elderly woman at peace. In her mind, the mc will understand and be friendly to Jibdai because in her mind, he's a friendly kind guy. She acts almost like a "licking dog" to this guy throughout the early stages of the story, even leaving the mc to be with him, not because she loves Jibdao, but because she assumes the mc will always forgive her, and also that she needs to continue to support Jibdao's grandmother. The mc draws a line. The reason he's so passive about things for the first couple hours is because even though he's mad at the girl, he wants to break things off with her in a clean manner without hurting the people he considers family. He also lives there, which makes it even more awkward. The mc treats her coldly and rudely causing her to think he's become a different person. And because of the three years she spent with Jibdai, she takes his side, believing him to be a simple naive kind man. About ~4 hours in, he informs her family that he wants to leave and break off the engagement. The father and mother are both astonished but after he reveals everything, he packs up and leaves. After about 5-6 hours in, Liu Ruyan becomes less of an idiot and finds evidence to prove Jibdai faked the grandma thing and coldly demands a divorce. After getting it, Jibdai unintentionally admits he hired thugs to hurt himself at the bar, causing her to be even more furious. So yeah... just throwing down some highlights for anyone who wants to know what's going on, why is the mc so spineless for the first hour, etc. So what should you expect? The primary love interest isn't Liu Ruyan, the mc doesn't express any romantic interest in her. The primary girl is this Femdom Jealous Yandere wealthy girl who forces herself on him in the opening of this vid.
