I don’t think a lot of people realize just how humorous he can be. Of course he surely has a lot of people who dislike him because he’s so good and becomes they think he’s arrogant. More people need to just enjoy the darts and relish the experience of getting to see great talent. Yes Matt I include you as a great talent.

Hi Matthew, I understand you not beging nervy when you really have to perform, since i'm the same, I'm playing to the max of my ability of the day when it's really important to me, whereas other people lose because they are nervous (with my level at darts there is no reason to be nervous, I just lose because I'm not good enough, but not because i'm nervous, same thing at everything i do). I think you might be just liking being a showman, as you were when wrestling, with lots of people watching. I'm like that, I feel more confident when watched by lots of people, and nervous when taking part in exams when only two people are watching lol, weird :D

I understand exactly where you're coming from because I'm the same. Playing in front of big crowds doesn't bother me you go into auto pilot mode and I like the buzz of it. Just playing in front of a few people terrifies me 😂

Been a darts fan since 78. Watching lakeside every year with my dad was top tv for me as a kid. I know the pdc is the apex in darts ( for tv and money) but super series and wdf still have good games, maybe more amateur, but closer matches imho. My dad was a very good player back in his day. Pub leagues and that !! I think the pdc get a lot wrong, premier league and stuff, so it's not the be all and end all, in fact the floor stuff is practically unwatchable. Good luck though Matt, in whichever way you go, life is a rollercoaster ride at times, to quote Yazz, the only way is up ☝ 😂😂👍

You know man,the silver lining in your story is that,being so young ,you got plenty years ahead to go back to your standards....you done once so you surely can do it again...... This is a sport that require very little phisical prowess,but a incredible amount if mental one......then take care of yourself,fell in love again with the darts and have a great comeback.......it will be even more tasteful,and definitely legendary

Not negative no. Gives me a focus and purpose away from playing. You can 24/7 focus on one thing. And if you think that’s what the likes of MvG smith Aspinall etc are doing it’s so far wrong. What effects me is the damage in my arm which means I can’t practice or play much. I’ve only played 5 times in 14 months

When Michael Smith said he'd realized that darts isn't everything after round 1 of 2022 worlds I immediately put $100 on him to win. Didn't quite work out but I doubled down. Happy days. For me I've learnt to enjoy the whole psychological side and I believe it helps in life. Hope to see you checking out 170s in the near future mate

Very fine margins Matt, I’m sure you’ll do well in no matter what avenue you decide to go down. Keeping a tour card is very obviously extremely difficult, especially when the lads that are around the 64 position are more likely to meet top seeds in the majority of tournaments.
