I used to eat a lot at the Salmon Bay Cafe. It is just a little south east of the heart of Ballard, which used to be where I lived at least 3 times growing up. It's now insanely populated there now. All of Seattle is insanely populated now. But no matter which direction you go... in an hour you will be in natural beauty.

Wow, looked like a great homestead. My dad passed in 2017. We (my two brothers and I) sold his house. I wish I was in the position to buy my brothers out, but at the time, the finances didn't allow. Now that I'm getting close to retirement age, I wish I had just made the stretch because where he lived is where I'd like to retire and the houses there are selling for more than twice what we got for it.

It was interesting to see the drive around the Seattle area (seeing as how I live here/there), and I suspect that you enjoyed your fishing adventure out of Shilshole Marina...
