Great info Sir. I hope to build one when I retire next year. Love the "hangar/build room"..lol. Good luck on the build. From an old Owensboro guy, be well be safe, and may God bless ya greatly.

i wish they'd build all fuselage kits with the narrow pillars for improved visibility. Cant wait to see yours painted.

well said! I almost didn't buy one because of the cabin design. Fortunately I found one with the modified cabin and wind screen. It will look nice once it is assembled and painted. I am putting together a new video that will showcase my "1 year" milestone. Thanks for watching!

Are you already a rotor-wing pilot? If not, what is your training plan? Looking good, keep after it!
@kentuckyhelicycle26142 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! I am still a student pilot and I will finish out my private rating over the next 5-6 months. My plan is to finish the rating and then transition to my Helicycle once it is completed. My guess is one year from now to finish it. Thank you and God bless!

@@kentuckyhelicycle2614 Are you getting your rotorwing PPL or airplane and then transitioning? What do you expect the transition to cost you? Really enjoying your build, thanks for sharing. Be blessed!

@@deatz8997 I am going for the PPL for helicopter. I don't have any fixed wing time at this point. I might look into that later. I fly in a Schweizer 300CB (Hughes) and the instruction rate is 385.00 per-hour. Very expensive for sure. Thanks for asking and have a good day my friend!

@@kentuckyhelicycle2614 Someone mentioned that if you fly gyroplane then a certain percentage can count towards the helicopter license? Is that so?
@kentuckyhelicycle26142 жыл бұрын
@@electricaviationchannelvid7863 Thanks for the question! I am not sure about that. I think a flight instructor could answer that better than me.

Do you have a link of the rotor a photo a plan something like that to find out what it's like inside another one if it has spar reinforcement something like this how it is inside if it's hollow link or photo or plan

Hey Alexsandro263! I would refer you to the factory designers/builders for any composite or construction methods and materials. I am not sure if I really know myself. They can provide you with specifications for things like what you are asking (I think). Go to: helicycleventures.com

Do u already have a helicopter license? If not, how do you plan on getting it?
@kentuckyhelicycle261411 ай бұрын
I am presently flying with an instructor and plan to get the private license. I hope to complete that this year as I get close to completing my build. I have an updated video that shows more of my progress if you are interested! Here is a link! kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqCkqGdjprdliq8

Thx for your reply. I've had a private pilots fixed wing license for over 50 years and have somewhat lost touch on what it cost to get various ratings now days. I had qualified to go to warrant officer school in the Army basic in 67 but was blocked by my drill instructor because of the high attrition rates of that job in Nam. So instead I became a scout dog handler and walked point. So I missed my chance of getting a free chopper rating. Now with all these great chopper kits out there, I really got interested in getting one, until I got some estimates on how much a private helicopter license will cost now. I'm getting estimates between 17k and 20k. If I wasn't so old, I might consider it, if I was 50 or less. But I'm afraid I'd get a rating and drop dead the next day. I was hoping to find an alternative, like I use with my ck rides for fixed wing. I use my experimental with a CFI that has no issues with doing that. I did hear some people that use their own home built chopper such as a JetExec 2 place to get their license. That saves about 600/700 an hour over renting a 2 or 4 place Robinson. But finding a CFI to do this is not easy. I was hoping you were doing something along these lines. Anyway, good luck with the license. You already have a great ship. I hear a lot of good things about these -32s and the helicycle has a very good flight history. @@kentuckyhelicycle2614

Thanks for sharing your story! The rate I pay is about 480 per hour. I am flying the Schweizer 300, which was widely used to train Warrant Officers during the Viet Nam war (as I am sure you know!!). Nevertheless, it is expensive to train. I figure that I can make it up through owning the Helicycle due to the low cost of ownership. I simply hope to enjoy recreational flying and hopefully hook up with some like-minded folks to fly with. I really do appreciate people sharing their stories with me and thank you for serving our country!! God bless. @@ginginthing
