I'm one who has a coding background and am going BACK to G-Develop because it seems like I could put games together a lot faster with G-Develop and I like how G-Develop has a lot of pre-built in things that saves time and in G-Develop I could still do coding if I need to. Also, their integration of 3D has been the icing on the cake!

Totally agree. Yesterday I started a project and after 2 hours I had my basic concept done of the game. This would have never been possible when having to write everything from scratch. It saves so much time because you can simply import a lot of frequently used game logics by using behaviours. @Tauredian you said the visuals get messy. I dont agree, you can structure it very well with external events in my opinion and collapse many logic trees to be more visual.

Gdevelop is pretty cool. I was trying to learn making games in Gdevelop last year. This video inspires me to go back and pick it up again.

yes, but is just the beggining the content and the way that you show up the projects was really enjoyable, also make my day. see someone so focus, starting the project with a goal. i will try to make that. i'm using gdevelop since 04/22, and but in real time learning is something about 1 year. the first year and was lost in the tutorial hell.

this is so nice and motivating video. Like you said earlier everyone (included me) wants to start their dream game project and it never goes good :D Since i heard Multiplayer options in Gdevelop in few weeks(month) i wanna return back to gdevelop and Start again. I'm not pro im just a novice this time instead of making games, i will work on Game mechanics like growing trees, Rpg stat system,Parabolic shot etc. I'm glad see your projects and journey, what you did what you have learnt etc. Thank you

Great video! GDevelop is a great engine for making basic games when getting started, and you can make some really cool stuff inside the engine with enough time put into it.

I usually don’t comment on videos but I just want to thank you for posting this video! I have been debating to whether or not make a game in Gdevelop or make a game at all. Watching your video helped me solidify my choice to make games on this engine. Rock on bro!

I just did my first personal "game jam" i did it by myself in an entire day. Its my first game in gdevelop. Its called The Adventure of The real black mayo. It took about 12 hours to make and its super buggy lol

Nice job!! I did Unity before but my computer takes 30-40 mins to load it up, same with Unreal Engine lol, and I researched GDevelop is a lot more convenient for building anywhere, seems they even have a decent phoneapp (I spend a lot of time on my bed without access to a computer cuz kinda paralyzed /health-issues so if I wanna make something in future I might need to use some phone game engine or access an online site I can build from) . It's really cool to see your journey so far, pretty nice for only a few months. Great job with the video too, don't worry about audio. It's really inspiring.

Congratulations on the progress! the difficult thing is to create good art, that's almost impossible. The right thing to do is pay a good 2D artist if you can and just program it.

Very nice. I'm also tinkering with GDevelop for years now, even made some extensions as well (but never published them). My plan is to start with Godot, but I'm afraid I'll never have enough time to master it. so I keep delaying and playing with GDevelop instead. Wanna team up? :D

Have you ever felt limited by GDevelop? If so, in what way?
@Tauredian4 ай бұрын
So far I've been able to do everything I've set out to do, though some stuff is kind of finicky and time consuming in Gdevelop. When a project gets big enough, you really have to make sure to keep organized or else you can be hunting down a particular piece of code you are looking for between various external event tabs. Having to use "Tiled" or "Level Design Toolkit" to make use of tilesets is annoying, I would love it if someday they integrated tilemap support directly into the engine.
@WorstDeveloper4 ай бұрын
@@Tauredian Yeah I can imagine it being a bit tricky to find things in unorganized event sheets and so on. At least that's something that can be somewhat avoided though. I asked because I was thinking of picking up GDevelop for a game. But I've decided to go with GameMaker instead after I saw that they're planning on making JavaScript a first class language. And console exports are nice too, if I ever need them.
@Tauredian4 ай бұрын
@@WorstDeveloper Yeah i'll probably end up with either gamemaker or godot eventually. Gdevelop has been a great starting place though and it's definitely worth considering especially for newcomers.
