In todays video I replace the floor pans in my 1967 Southwestern Bell Service truck. This is my first time attempting such a repair, and it was quite the adventure! I started by cutting out the rusty old floor pans and then welded in brand new replacements. Along the way, I faced some unexpected challenges, but I managed to overcome them. To finish off, I gave the new floor pans a fresh coat of paint. Despite a few struggles, the end result turned out really nice. Join me as I share the step-by-step process, tips, and lessons learned from this project. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more restoration content!

Very nice job Matt. I did this a couple of years ago and like you, the second pan went easier. I appreciate your video and tricks you used. The 1” making tape under the pan between the frame and pan was a great tip. Time and straight cuts are a must so great job!

Nice job Matt. I find the body work is so tedious in comparison to the mechanical work. Do you find that different suppliers have different quality sheet metal? Do you have one supplier you prefer over another? Thanks for another Good video.

You have that right! A lot of the parts come from the same place but not all. It all kinda depends on what you are getting. LMC is sometimes lower quality. I used AMD floor pan on the driver side and one from NPD on the passenger and the passenger fit way better, but also could have been my fitment.

Do you know what country the sheet metal comes from?

@@russellweber4334Taiwan for the most part. Carolina F-100 has some USA made parts that fit amazing. But limited parts are available.

That looks much better than using old license plates with self tapping screws to fix the floors.

That would have been WAY faster though!

The heater delete is interesting on that truck

It has the economy heater. 67 only deal. Heater control is a single knob under the gauge cluster and defrost is controlled manually on the heater box. No temp control. Deluxe heater had the 3 knobs under the radio.

yeah the snow ball effect is a terrible thing lol. Good job with some good pointers on the pans. I’m currently swapping a 67 f100 to a 78 150 4wd. Replace all the usual sheet metal. Question I have is about paint. It’s harbour blue and my wife is sick of patina so am going to paint it. Is that a color that the autobody shop can mix up or do you buy the original ford color someplace? Thanks Matt

Paint shop should be able to mix it up. I recommend using the PPG code for the color.
