"America has gotten complacent with music" I AGREE SO MUCH. Before I ever got hardcore into BTS, I went to their concert and it changed everything for me. Entertainment value was off the charts. You do not need to understand a word they are saying or know a single song- it was pure entertainment and so amazing. I fell into a hole of music videos and was instantly captivated. You do not see that anymore in the states, sadly. This most recent album of theirs references philosophy and their older work starting from 2013, they have actual meaningful lyrics that aren't just the repetition of just one word..it's art forreal

I'm watching all of my favourite Eminem reactors... slowly turning into ARMY.. I agree that artists over in America have become complacent and we don't really get these kinds of grand performances anymore. I liked that you pointed out Thriller - MJ because they are the closest thing to MJ that I have seen when it comes to live performances, humility, charisma, dancing and singing talent, stage production.. I really miss artists like MJ. BTS have always reminded me of MJ forreal. Just so you know, BTS have also looked up to Eminem as their idol since they were little kids and BTS rappers' first concert ever was an Eminem concert. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists and they originally started out as a hip-hop group and then expanded into a very musically diverse group! You should check out their song Hip Hop Lover, Mic Drop, Cyphers 1-4, Outro: Tear, Ddaeng, Ugh, Respect.. The MVs would have Eng CC and there are also color coded lyric videos.

I definetely agree with the thing about how music makes you feel. I have been a fan of bts, an army as we are called, since 2014. I was a casual listener. I just really liked their music and I found their personalities very enjoyable. In 2016 I was going through some not so nice stuff. Might be a bit graphic but I was seriously thinking of ending it. But right in the worst of it, BTS came out with their album called WINGS. There is a song called 2!3! that's dedicated to their fans. I am not exagerating when I say that song saved my life. Since then, I have been trying my best to support them through everything, voting for them whenever, buying albums, merch, anything to help. 2017, 2018 and 2019, I have been in that state multiple times but everytime I feel like that... there is always a few BTS songs that can help me out. Even if they don't make me better, they comfort me a little. I am not exagerating when I say they're my reason for living. Some people might say that's really unhealthy and obssesive but they have truly helped me and many many others in their time of need. They make songs with this in mind, helping others. That said, I genuinely hope you'll give them a chance and dive deeper into what they're about. P. S. : Sorry for any sort of grammar mistakes. English is not my first language.
@Kate-oj8tu
@Kate-oj8tu 4 жыл бұрын
Having them as your support system doesn't have to mean that it is an unhealthy obsession. I think you just recognized the message that they are trying to send into the world and connected with them through the fact that it was exactly what you needed at that moment. Supporting them is your way of giving back because they gave something to you and that is normal in any situation. Don't let the stigma around boyband fans worry you. You seem like you know the difference between support and harassment. As for them being your reason to live, as someone who has gone through (and got out, yay!) the same thing know that it is a good thing to find anything as a reason to live. It doesn't matter what it is, importance is that there is something, anything. There are already so many in your life that only later you start to recognize but to do that you have to stay. And if BTS is your first reason then it is the most important reason. Period. No discussion possible on that one. With that said, you will heal, it is possible and the only thing you have to do is stay. So you can witness yourself moving on with your life and living anew. After everything, it feels like the first breath of air once you've resurfaced from a dive. My suggestion is to start with prioritizing yourself against anything that makes you put yourself in second place. I don't know you, or your story but this seems to be a universal starter for anyone battling with anything similar. I wish you all the patience you will need for this and also, I have faith in you! You got this!! :)
@js3839
@js3839 4 жыл бұрын
When I first started looking into them in 2016, twitter was FULL of people saying how BTS literally saved their lives. I honestly thought it was exaggerative effusiveness. But then they would pop up with lyrics and discuss how it affected their actual life decisions. No matter what others think. That’s powerful

I agree 1000% that American artists are no where near this magnitude in performance (and music). BTS' music incorporates different genres, their lyrics have meaning, their music videos have depth and are filmed beautifully. Last but not least, their live performances are huge productions. Through all of this, they still remain humble and as themselves. They have something to offer for everyone.

KING MB In my eyes they are for this younger generation (actually there many fans 30+), but that’s my personal opinion although I haven’t listened to every group out there. Like he was saying in this video a huge factor is the feeling the music gives you. Since their debut even though they came from a small company that was even almost at the brink of bankruptcy, BTS and Big Hit always had the mission to make music that speaks truth and that gives people hope and comfort. They had very humble beginnings and still carry that integrity with them even as they have gained worldwide popularity and have grown as artists. Say what you want but I have a lot of respect for what they have done. I especially respect Namjoon and Yoongi for the lyrics they write.

Sure, there are articles everywhere that you can use “proof” for this. *BUT*, that's not an excuse to just rant out at someone's comment just because it contrasts you belief. I just stated an opinion that reflects what's actually going on, and then you just replied. It was YOU who came to me at the first place. And now you're offended because I called you out and this attitude you're showing?? 😂 Fyi, although my sisters don't deserve to be dragged in this, but just so you get the picture, I have 2 little sisters who love BTS. They are ARMYs. You wanna know what? They DON'T act like this on social media just like what you're doing now. They know what to prioritize, they promote what they love instead of bashing what they hate. Why? Because that's what my little sisters learned from BTS. LOVE. JUST LOVE. And that's what I've also learned from BTS, LOVE. As a big sister, and I know for sure what BTS will tell you if they're just your big brothers. If this is your way of telling the truth, honey, you're wasting your time. You even said yourself, “The only ones with genuine fame and success is BTS,” then let that truth speak for itself. PROMOTE WHAT YOU LOVE, THAT'S ENOUGH. You labeled me as a mere “K-Popper,” thanks for that. I never knew will encounter an ARMY who's not yet ready for the mature world, thanks for that too. I'm very disappointed.

@@MMMMMMMMPPPPP..... It really is indeed bias. I didn't even say you're wrong, or made things up. What I'm calling out here is why did you come at me just because you don't agree, and how you're acting up right now. Like I said, you're just wasting your time trying to prove your point. ARMYs are well-known when it comes to promoting LOVE, which is what I'm not seeing in you right now. This issue your bringing up is a big ball of hate. It's so negative! If you really are an ARMY, just focus on BTS, promote love, AND THAT'S IT. Your “idk what you are discussing here..” reply just goes to show that you cannot accept constructive criticism. My point is clear. Again, just focus on promoting love, JUST LOVE. Stop acting around on social media and contrast other's opinion just because you don't agree. Give that to BTS. BTS would love that. And I'm not saying this as a mere “K-Popper,” I'm saying this as a person with little sisters who are ARMYs too.

@@MMMMMMMMPPPPP..... My, oh my… Child, you are clearly refusing to understand, aren't you? 😂🤣 Let's go back to the start, shall we? 1: I have agreed to the KZbinr's opinion because it's true that the music industry in the US have become complacent, which is why I commented because it is really happening. When K-Pop got its chance to get into the US market, K-Pop succeeded. THAT SIMPLE. 2: Then there you are, you came and replied to my comment. Claiming that it is only BTS who made it big in the US, which obviously sounded bias, and bringing up this issue about the bundles, which is ridiculous and irrelevant to the KZbinr's and my own comment. I called you out on how you acted and why did you “need” to come at my comment. I guess I may have constructed my grammar poorly, but what I clearly pointed out was it's wrong to just accuse or blame other agencies on what they do to their artists, marketing-wise. Regardless if there are proof or none, you shouldn't be coming at other people's comment just because it's against your belief. Mind you, a mere article from the internet cannot be considered as a “proof,” legally and logically speaking. 3: I got very disappointed in you, because I know and obviously you are an ARMY, but my little sisters are ARMY too but they don't act like you do. Whenever they are on social media and on fangirling mode, they focus on BTS only. They focus on LOVE, they promote BTS without engaging into stressful things just like what you're doing. They also know about the bundle issue, but they don't freaking dwell with it. Why? Because my young sisters are mature enough to know what's the best and how to reject negativity. You are not my sister, I know. But I felt the need to call you out because, how the heck would I know, maybe you're coming at other people too just because you don't agree. You need to stop that attitude and get yourself together. If you don't take it as constructive criticism, well then it's that the issue is not me anymore. If this bothers you that much, you need to rethink your actions, baby. Again, if BTS are your big brothers, I'm sure they won't like what you're doing right now. 😘

Do you even know what are bundles or do i need to explain to you how he industry works? Here we go, if 100 people buy 100 apples in my shop, and one person buy one apple in another shop but recieves as a Gift 99 apples.. Both shops are removing 100 apples from the stock, but can you say tht both shops are successful? Or the succesful one. Is the one that really is selling ll those apples and the other is manipulati g the reality to make it look like the shop is succesful with their apples too? Hello from Canada. BTS is one of the hardest working bands, they're dance moves are top notch...it's like a GROUP of michael jackesons. Their music lyrics are SO inspriational. The group has singers, rappers, dancers and actors. I love them. They are humble, grateful to their ARMY and never miss a chance to give thanks to the ARMY. They write their own music, lyrics and melodies, they work on their own chereography. They do have a chereographer that assists them. But they ALL are in best of shape, they have to be, to do some of those moves. Everyone of their songs/dances is a work of ART. I enjoy and adore BTS! If you go to a BTS concert you get your moneys worth and more. Their concerts are OVER THE TOP! xoxoxoxo

Loved your reaction and your great breakdown on feeling the music. BTS is no joke and on another level! They are different from other KPop groups and international Pop groups in general because of the deep messages, storylines in their songs. The members are involved in writing and producing their tracks too. They spit real talk about life, mental health awareness, self-love, psychology and socio-political issues in their songs. The 3 rappers have background in underground rap (RM and Suga) and street dance (JHope). There are 4vocalists: Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook. If you want to learn more about them and their rise to legend status check out “Crash Course to BTS 2020”, “BTS Contributions to Music”, “From Nobodies to Legends 1+2”, “Who is BTS? They’re 7 members: 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. They write all their lyrics and produce or co-produce most of their songs. They can all dance, but 3 have dancing background experience, the rest just practice their butts off. They all practice like mad men all the time. Vocalists: Jungkook - the one who did the bridge, the breakdown solo vocal part. He’s the lead vocalist of the group, for obvious reasons. Jimin - he starts the song, dressed in white. Jumped over Jungkook before the dance break. He has the highest resister in the group, he’s a countertenor, which means his register hits notes in the female register. Basically, his voice is angelic. V - the other one dressed in white, he has the lowest tones of the vocalists, although this song isn’t the best to showcase that. If you’re into some soul sounding vocals, he’s the one to look for. Jin - he’s wearing a jean jacket and sings most of the first hook. He’s a good belter, especially in high notes, but also not showcased in this song. Rappers: RM - leader of the group. He did the first rap in this song. He writes most of the lyrics of every song for the group, usually except the other rapper’s parts since they write their own raps. He’s a poet, his lyrics tend to have 2-3 meanings and require a degree in more than one subject to fully understand. Suga - he did the last rap in this song, he’s the one that rapped with the drum line behind him. His style of writing is more on the imagery and storytelling. He’s the fastest rapper of the group. His style reminds a lot of ppl of Eminem, which is evident when he says Eminem is one of his biggest influences. J-hope - he was the second to rap here. His style is more on the flow. He switches flow like it’s nothing. This might be because he’s the dance leader. His background is in street dancing, so his rap reflects that. While RM and Suga were in the underground rapping scene in Korea, J-Hope was a dancer. It doesn’t make him any less powerful, he’s been rapping for 7 years now. If you’re interested in checking more of them, I’d suggest from the new album UGH!, which is entirely by the rap line, Black Swan is more on the lyrical part (the live version, since the MV has a different music, which is very good too if you’re into classical music), and Louder than Bombs which they wrote with Troye Sivan.

They write their own lyrics and produce their songs as well and are Amazing Live performers (fun fact they do not lipsynch like ever, although they have backing tracks). They also are very much involved in their own career and the direction their albums and concepts take. They do collaborate with other producers, mixers and engineers outside of the ones from big hit their label. The 3 rappers are full members of Korea Music copyright association, and all of BTS are members of the Grammy's recording academy. It’s so sad most people when they find out BTS are Kpop they won’t listen because it’s in another language, but BTS are so different then any other artist. Their stage presence, the vocals, rap, dancing, and each members personalities makes them the best. I can not explain how much I love them

Thanks for the nice words and reviews to the Song "ON" and Performance of my Beloved BTS. As you said they really perform larger than life, synchronized dancing and awesome choreography and SUPERB Performance. True KPop especially BTS brought the whole musical entertainment in a whole new level. I love ALL BTS, they are Legendary because it's not just their beautiful music that they want.people ALL over the World but to Promote Positive Attitude like the Love Myself CAMPAIGN a collaboration between BTS and UNICEF to End Violence against Children, Women and Peoples of the World. To promote love and respect to ONESELF and to others. They are fascinating and very talented Artists but they are also humble, caring and Role Models and a Positive Influence and Inspiration to ALL Beautiful, lovely and Supportive A.R.M.Y. ALL OVER THE WORLD. I think BTS is NO. 1 Musicians in the World and I love them ALL.

Most important tip vis a vis BTS: expect nothing, expect everything. These boys rap, do hip hop, dance like dervishes, sing ballads, you name it; they've done it, and done it well. This is not your daddy's k-pop. This is high art on steroids. To be honest, I kind of envy you, getting to listen to their entire oeuvre for the first time. You, sir, are in for a treat.

Scru, I’ve been watching your reactions for a VERY long time and THIS crossover is something I never expected. THANK YOU!! Usually the “hard one” is SUGA AKA Agust D. Three rappers have their distinct styles and strengths. Adding something everyone else has said, please react to the Shadow, Cypher series, Mic Drop, UGh, Ddaeng and Outro Tear. Those are my favourite rap heavy songs.

I appreciate you being open-minded and giving BTS a chance. They are grammy nominated and internationally award-winning 7-member band from South Korea. 3 rappers: RM, Suga, Jhope, and 4 vocalists: V, Jin, Jungkook, Jimin. Secret: they do more than "Kpop": hip hop, rap, ballad, rock, Jazz, R&B, EDM, trap, Latin-pop, Afro-house, moombahton, etc. and are called their own genre. They write/produce/sing/dance/even direct their music. They sing in 3 languages: Korean, Japanese, and English. They have about 3 all English songs you may have heard of: Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance. I see someone going down the rabbit hole!

One thing I love and very much respect about BTS is that they leave it all on the stage. They bare their heart and soul on the stage. It’s honestly so amazing and pure. Absolutely love them. Btw their names are Rap-Monster (RM), Suga, Junkook, Jimin, J-hope, V, and Suga.

Made me smile man. Nice to see someone recognize the hard work and how amazing they're performances are. I'm sorry but if this was an american artist I can assure you that people would be going pyscho and hyping them up so much.
