No offense, but he's complaining about having been deathly ill in this video for quite some time. No doubt a food borne illness, probably parasites. Tropical island countries are paradisaical, but there's always the risk of serious gastrointestinal distress if food and water are not handled/treated properly. I find it odd that you completely ignore his condition. This is why the hygiene standards don't improve significantly in the P.I.: people just accept it without demanding change.

That thing is called by the visayan locals as "bowa". Its basically a coconut embryo or coconut sprout. An edible spherical sponge-like cotyledons of germinating coconuts. Happy New Year Bret! the Coconut you opened is a bit too old for the coconut sprout, in Bisaya we call it Buwa( Boowa'). instead of looking for a young plant coming out of the coconut and roots, look for brown coconuts and shake it. what you're looking for is coconut that does not have liquid sloshing around inside it when shook. When you open the coconut you'll notice that the Buwa is not as big as what you had in your Vlog, but it will be a lot tastier and sweeter . Hope this helps and Cheers!!!
