Jon, I just graduated from a state university with a bachelors degree in CS, and I performed well getting A’s in almost all class, especially the ones central to CS. I really want to get my first job at Google out of university. I have an internship at a huge company in my state under my belt and two moderately advanced software engineering projects done by me. I’m feeling overwhelmed by the intensity of the coding interview questions although I enjoyed discrete math, logic, etc. I was wondering your 100% honest opinion about if you think it’s possible for me to get into Google and if you also felt overwhelmed with preparing for interview questions.

Hey Cody, great question! I do have autonomy over my schedule; so the super simple answer is I know I'm done for the day when I've hit 8 hours. I work on Android, so we do have a point when we are done - for example, when we release a new version of Android - but there's always more work to do, such as working on the next version. I would say there's a good mix of working on new features and updating existing features

Hi Ella! It's not a requirement that you start learning how to code at a young age; I didn't start learning until I was 18 and in college. Awesome video! I’m starting as a software engineer at Google soon, so it’s a really great sneak peek for me :) Which part of the MTV campus was this filmed at?

@@yourfriendintech Thanks for the answer! One more question, do you think Google will push back its full reopening by a couple months like what other companies are currently doing? I know we’re set to go back in Sept, but given the news around the Delta variant, I’m a little uncertain now. Regardless, I’m super excited to see the campus when it eventually reopens.

I want to work at Google too. Maybe we will work after a few years. I'm 16 now I'm frontend dev. Maybe mid-level. What should I do to get hired at Google? Because I time until then.
@yourfriendintech3 жыл бұрын
Wow, very impressive! Google actually has a high school program called the Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) that you may be interested in

@@yourfriendintech thank you very much it starts next year but until I improve my skills and next year I and sorry for asking questions again, what courses can you recommend until then from udemy or something else?
@yourfriendintech3 жыл бұрын
@@upcoding434 I'm not too familiar with any udemy courses so unfortunately I have none to recommend. If you want to improve as a programmer, you need to practice. Since you already have frontend dev experience, you may want to gain experience in backend development - try looking for udemy courses where you need to create a web app where you can create both the front and backend.
