I really appreciate your visit to Ethiopia. However, it is not new when you go to developing countries. Donot get surprised if some people ask you a tip. Let me tell you my experience in India in just 20 years ago. When I visited the local immigration office in Aligarh India the police man asked me to pay him money to give me local visa. It is not only Ethiopia but also elsewhere now a days when the life has become expensive. Any way good luck and stay safe.
