Finally an honest review. Sometimes we make mistakes sometimes products don’t work out. But I wouldn’t worry about the leather as it will age well, and the scuffs can be buffed out. I would get a nice adjustable white patterned guitar strap that you can crossbody.

Beautiful bag! Interchangeable straps are “in.” So maybe they will create additional straps will other lengths? Otherwise super gorge! I love the mix of the leather bag and jacquard fabric strap.

Michele, was the mark on the bag right from the beginning? Because it could be glue residue (they use some "glue" when they finish the bags); you can bring it into your local Dior Boutique, they can take care of it. It is often overseen in artificial light, that's why the craftsmen/ -women don't notice it right away. So if it was there from the beginning, I would leave it alone, because you could make it worse. 😘❤

Actually, the opening on the smaller medium size easily accommodates my iPhone 12 Pro Max, so this larger bag opening is not so small.

I’m 48 years old and I’ve pretty much worn cross body bags my entire adult life. I’ve always found them stylish (dressed up or dressed down) and comfortable. Your new bag is lovely, and the “imperfections” would bother me too. But it still looks great on you.

Hi Michelle, I don't buy white bags or white pants much because I'm also not too good at being precious. I love an external pocket. The strap is so beautiful. The gold hardware looks great with your necklaces. I wonder if they would let you exchange the bag for the medium size. I would run it by your sales manager.

The bag is gorgeous....I think it should have come with a shorter leather “shoulder strap” AND a longer fabric strap much more variety in how to style it, however .... regardless of strap type, they most definitely should all be adjustable, I adore the YSL college medium size ... but the long strap can’t be adjusted so for me ... it’s a no go. I don’t understand the non adjustable concept ... it’s like making a dress in a size 6 and saying ok, here everyone wear this 🙄 I’m 5’2” so I’m always “issuing” about lengths 😂😂😂

I understand your remarks perfectly. I think many high fashion designers create pieces not with practicality or accessibility in mind, but an "aesthetic". I mean, I've had so many dream bags that I then saw in store and realized would really annoy me throughout the day. I'm not a picky person and I don't want or need a different bag for every outfit, but if I can't reach things comfortably, it drives me insane. Thank you for the review!

that’s a great shape ! it reminded me immediately of the celine besace 16 which i’ve admired for ages. celine also has a cream version although again like you i enjoy using beautiful well made goods without babying them too much so that colour wouldn’t work for me. i like having a proper relationship with all my belongings & create memories together. the cognac colour may not be available for the large dior bobby, and i know that for celine in asia, only certain colours are brought in for certain handbag models.

I love this saddle style bag! I did not know Dior made this style. I was looking at the Coach saddle bags they've reissued, but I ended up getting a Saint Laurent saddle bag that I love that I can wear crossbody. It is a bit smaller than the Dior. I've used Mr Clean Magic Eraser very gently on light color and darker color leather bags to remove a pen mark and light spots. Your bag is gorgeous! Enjoy!!

It’s cute, I like the strap design. A little crazy that it isn’t adjustable though! Love the colour, but it does seem delicate, especially with the polished calfskin. I wouldn’t purchase for the reasons you mention.

I am about your height and size I just purchased this same bag but in medium oblique blue, and for all the reasons you mentioned in this video, I believe you would enjoy it more. The rounded shape of this bag with its flat back is ideal for sitting against the body, and in the medium size, which does come with the more convenient adjustable thinner leather strap, it works both as a decent length crossbody as well as an over-the-shoulder length. It's unobtrusive, comfortable, and in my opinion, classically elegant. Unlike the large size, the clasp from the removable strap on the medium bag is proportional to the d-ring it attaches to so it swivels smoothly. I initially was hesitant about purchasing this bag in the oblique pattern thinking it was a little too busy for my taste, but I am glad I did. Like you, I wear a lot of solid colours - black, grey, blue, taupe, cream - and this patterned medium bag adds just the right amount of colour contrast to lift an outfit. The blue of this leather is quite a dark so it can also seem black at times. This bag is an investment, and being in canvas means I can wear it with more pleasure as I don't have to be concerned about scratches. I've become so smitten with this item that I also purchased the matching sneakers, which are very comfortable. Again, the pattern of the blue oblique goes well with my wardrobe colour. If you get the chance to purchase the Dior Bobby Medium in Canvas Oblique, I believe you would not have any regrets. By the way, I have been enjoying your videos and content for years now, and you have become one of my favourite and trusted people on KZbin. I always find your content enjoyable, honest, relatable and I look forward to them.

I tried this bag before. The SA did mention if you want to wear cross body. You do need to buy the strap that they sell separately. Which is adjustable. Otherwise the strap that come with this bag is just too short and only can wear on your shoulder.

Beautiful bag! I've been wanting a saddle bag for awhile now. This is a beautiful bag but I think the opening coming in somewhat would aggravate me. I always think I want a bone colored bag but then I don't use them. I'm sure it is fear of messing it up. I definitely gravitate towards black - black anything is so me. I really like the Chloe Marcie bag but I'm not quite sure. I guess I'll know it when I see it. I had a gorgeous tooled leather saddle bag in the early 70s and loved it. Wish I still had that bag! Thx for your honest review. I’ve been contemplating between medium and large. I think medium and I’ll purchase adjustable strap. Which they do have btw but it’s not in oblique pattern and it’s a lil thinner. I’d suggest flipping the strap hooks outward, it may help to not get stuck. That’s what I do with my coach bags same type of clasp.

Beautiful bag & I’m so sorry that it’s not exactly what you wanted. Would it lay down better if you attached the clasp the opposite way so that the clasped faced out? It seems like the part that sticks out shouldn’t be laying against the bag & it might sit more naturally if the smooth ring was against the bag. Just an idea!

Stunning looking bag but I agree with all your points. It seems they didn't give enough thought to the practical concerns. Too quick in R&D. BTW, it's called a cartridge bag, originally used to keep cartages in while hunting (saddle bags are slightly different).

It's the perfect bag for pick pocketing. No zipper inside and very easy to open. I would never wear ot on my back like the models do. But love the colour so much

Yes I must have this bag, also in the large size, but in black or in blue for the fall / winter season. I hope I can get one. I saw the Lady Dior with a strap to wear it crossbody, and the strap was long enough, I think there are different straps in length at Dior.

The bag is beautiful. Sorry you don't love it as much as you wanted to. I loved your semi-fail pics of trying to wear it like the models did. They should model it on people who weigh more than 100 pounds and have boobs to give us a better idea of what it'll look like. I have a friend who got her first designer bag (a Dooney, so not terribly expensive, but a big deal to her) and got a major ballpoint pen mark on the front right away. She said she was going to use a Magic Eraser to remove it. I begged her not to. She did it anyway. Needless to say, it removed the finish all around the pen mark, and of course, it did not remove the ink. What a mess. So sad. XO Heidi

I like the bag and logo, and the color. The oblique strap is more comfortable. Grey and latte both look great. Leather wears better. Size is really a personal matter. I’m petite, so the larger bags can overwhelm me. Interested in the feedback you receive.

Your criticisms are totally valid, and I would share them. Cross body bags in large cities are essential, and definitely +1 to a back pocket. If a bag can't be securely (zipped, clasped) shut, I won't get it as I really don't want anything nicked when I'm in the tube, etc. Social distancing won't last forever! Criticisms aside, it's a stunning, work of art bag!

As always, thank you for the great review and insights of the Dior Bobby. Color and size are fabulous; however, given the size a correction of the strap situation is a must. Given the investment of this Dior piece it is worth a visit to Dior boutique, or a call to your shopper, to address the smudge on the flap and the strap issue. Maybe a longer strap with a smaller ring to attach to the bag is the answer; and their repair dept. might have a suggestion/solution for the smudge. The color will lend itself to future marks/smudges, so that info will maintain the color for the long haul. Wear it in health, congrats on Dior!

Michele, this is a beautiful bag, but I don’t like the strap. I think the idea of the strap is to modernize the bag, but I think I would have gone with a matching latte colored thinner leather strap. I wouldn’t be able to have this color bag because I am clumsy and would ruin the bag by spilling something on it. Can you buy a different strap?

Hi Michelle, thanks for your review. I noticed that your the oblique strap to your large bobby is not adjustable. I went into Dior this afternoon and tried on the same bag but in black. I didn’t pull the trigger as the bag is slightly big on me even I’m not petite myself. It just didn’t sit right on my body frame. It’s a very pretty bag; different from what’s trending right now. I’ll watch your video a few more to see if I’ll be “influenced” to get it eventually. :)

If possible, I would either return the bag or exchange it for the medium; if not possible, I would get a different strap, and I would insist that Dior clean the spot, because the leather should have been treated with a protective film to prevent that type of staining, given the light colour - after all it’s meant to be used. I have 2 Hermes Lindy bags and I adore them - all the negatives you mentioned are nonexistent with the Lindy.

Try a baby wipe to clean the bag - no clue what is in those baby wipes but they do miracles when cleaning leather! :)

Congrats on your new bag Michele. They do tend to wear crossbody bags higher than in the past that they should go around the hip and I like that, but with this one I don't know. I can wear my Chanel Medium crossbody better than my Jumbo as I am 5.4" and I have to tie the chain inside with the Jumbo. Also the wide strap is a pain, I realised that with Balenciaga older wider straps with the pad which I had to take down. They always leave the shoulder. I wonder why they don't make them so that you can adjust the strap, it is the same with Balenciaga with the ones that have a supposedly adjustable strap. With this one I love love love the strap though. The design is so beautiful. Again enjoy your new bag xx

My friend and me took some bag design workshops for fun and made a few items for our friends. Right off the bat I could see the issues. They really took the cheap route and be selling a 300 $ worth bag for Dior prices. I really recommend taking leather accessory workshops to make better investments in future.

Personal opinion: strap doesn't fit the look of the bag; flap bags don't appeal/work for me (which is why none of my Chanel bags are flaps); it looks like they took different pieces of bags and threw them all together to get this one. Again, personal opinion. I will say that Dior has, IMHO, the BEST customer service of all the luxury companies out there. They make a quality product, for sure; I just don't feel that THIS bag is one of their better designs. If you love it, that's ALL that matters; if you're not feeling it, send it back. There will ALWAYS be another gorgeous bag to purchase :)

You can use an extender-- either just add a circular or oval carabiner, clipped onto the D-ring and the strap clip, or they have short chains with clips on either end designed to extend a strap. I know it's not as good as just having a strap that's the right length, but if you still want to try and make it work for you...

Thank you for sharing that detail about the strap length. I have the guitar strap from last year, and I was confused when I saw the Bobby ads wondering if they had come out with a longer strap. As you say, they look like appropriate crossbody length even knowing the model is smaller than me. My guitar strap does not sit on the shoulder correctly. It's like it made and angled to be a crossbody somehow. Again, exactly as you describe - it slides off! I feel like no one is talking about these flaws (possibly because of the gifted aspect)...

I love Dior bags and when the top handle BeDiors came out years ago I collected in all sizes and colors. I have a black and white one that is very similar in color to yours and the color has never gotten super dirty. Enjoy her or your won’t use her. The ONLY downside to Dior is their resale value doesn’t hold if that is something you care about. I don’t but some do...enjoy and funny thing. I live right outside NY but buy all my Dior from Las Vegas. They have always taken care of me and the team there is amazing. Again, enjoy her.
