We arrived at Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan after over 6 hours of drive and a few stops. We will spend the night here. As soon as we arrived in the big city, my goal was to get a local dress to blend in with the people much better. So we started the evening searching for a tailor who could make the local dress for me as soon as possible. As you can see from the video, everyone has been super welcoming and supportive to help us to make it happen. Before the video ends, you will see my first encounter with Taliban fighters and our short communication.

Another great video. I didn't see anything suspicious about the young guy who helped you find a store and gave you a drink. Since you're not familiar with Afghan culture, this might have seemed strange. But in Afghan culture, it's normal for people to pay for your food, invite you to their homes even if they just met you, and offer help even if you say no at first. Cheers

Always wanted to see this area of Afghanistan. I was Us Army 93-98. Was asked to rejoin after 9/11. I knew my military history and read every book on all conflicts. I told the recruiter. “ The Russians lost. Why would the US do any better?” I was right over 20 years later. Stupid war and lost of lives and money. I pity all 9/11 vets.

Crazy how people comment on how surprised they are that Afghans are friendly people... come on guys: Nobody said the whole country is full of terrorists... but still women dont have the same rights and these "friendly fighters" obviously have their instructions. Sure the West did a mess there by try to push through their way. But still this way of islam is soooooo middle aged when it comes to personal freedom and womans rights... dont get blended.

From the west's perspective, if 80% of women in a country are not whores, the country needs more freedom (spelled "bombs").

This makes me wish I could visit Afghanistan, too. Most everyone around the world just wants to be healthy and happy. They don’t want to rule over others. These people are the same. Very interesting. I’m Puerto Rican but born and raised in America. I always see on American television and it seemed as if people in Afghanistan lived in desert or in very very bad conditions. It’s an eye open and with a smile I can see they live normal conditions and they are welcoming and nice. I can only think that they did not like when the Americans occupied there because i know for a fact that Americans would not want another country occupying here. God bless the people of Afghanistan and world wide
