My first ever BALIK BAYAN BOX IN Japan! Pasalubong for my family

In my 7 years in Japan I’ve never sent a package to ph aside from documents and my grandma’s hearing aid.
What is BALIK BAYAN BOX?
A balikbayan box is a corrugated box containing items sent by overseas Filipinos. Though often shipped by freight forwarders specializing in balikbayan boxes by sea, such boxes can be brought by Filipinos returning to the Philippines by air.

I’m not Filipino and have never been to the Philippines, but I’m going there next year to meet my new Filipina friend and possibly retire. I was hoping I could send a Balik Bayon box to her, but I don’t think the rules allow for that. So sad. 😔
