FL Studio doesn’t have to be unorganized. I recommend dragging every sample and plugin directly onto an empty track (on the gray box with the track number) in your playlist. This will automatically name the track after the sample or preset, assign it a new color, and link the newly added sound to an empty FX channel, which will also be named and colored automatically. For loading in plugins, use the '+' button at the top of your playlist track boxes.(plugins then will automatically appear on the next empty track in your playlist). When done correctly, any automation you create will be grouped with the corresponding plugin, audio clip, or sound. This keeps your playlist organized, since each sound has its own dedicated track and cannot be moved to other tracks (you still can move them, but FL now will ask you if you really want to move your clips to another track). Lots of people don't use this function in FL, and I ask myself: Why?

I've been in FL for over two decades doing a myriad of music and just... making it work like I wanted pro tools to be with different interfaces and stuff, and I LOVE seeing people learn how to use it! I think Benn Jordan said it once, and best: "Everything can connect to ANYTHING.". I admire all of your work, and really enjoyed this treat of a video. Cheers!

the fact that with FL you can put midi and audio on the same line has always been crazy to me
@catdisc53042 ай бұрын
That's the big difference between FLs and Ableton's playlist: In FL Studio the playlist tracks are just a suggestion, you could even stack everything on top of eachother, samples midi and automation. In Ableton you're kinda forced to use the track on its own instrument, which feels limiting to me as a user of FL Studio for almost 20 years. However I envy you guys for your mixer and how flexible it is for routing and parallel processing
@electricblade5Ай бұрын
I wanna see a one playlist track challenge now. Can only use one playlist track for the whole song.
@catdisc5304Ай бұрын
@@electricblade5 in FL easier than in Ableton as you can just make one large pattern that contains all your midi, instruments and samples... However automation and moving stuff around will be annoying once you start stacking patterns.
