Hey thanks again for the trade! Its nice to shoot the EM again. You know, speaking of simple cameras- the more I shoot with the OM10 the more it reminds me of the EM, albeit with better exposure metering.

Looking for one of these now for an upcoming trip. Want to keep the kit light. I have quite a few Nikon lenses and having the ability to use them without having to get a new camera system is a plus.

Hahaha idk man. I'm not saying never again, but I just can't get into them anymore. I used to watch them all the time, and did like reviewing different stuff, but after shooting so many cameras you eventually find what you like and just wanna shoot that 🤷‍♂️

The EM is by no means a bad camera, and in its day would have been a good choice for somebody wanting a bit more than a simple point and shoot. However, somebody buying a film camera today is probably going to want something with more features. I think that going up a level to the original FG would be a better option. I have collected cameras over the years, and have far more than is good for me. About half of them are Nikon SLRs,, I have: F, Ft, FTn, Ft2, FT3, El, Elw, El2, Fm, Fe, FM3a, Fa, Em, FG, FG-20, F-301, F-501, FM-10, FG-10, F90x and Df. Of all of these the little FG is one of my favourites.

I’m on my second EM. Just can’t stop handling it and with the basic E Series 50mm it takes amazing photos. Access to the shutter speed is via the aperture chosen. Faster shutter, upon the aperture. Simple. Adjust the film speed to control your under or over exposure. Again, simple.

The only problem with the EM is the meter needle gets stuck in the foam when it gets sticky. You can still use it on manual. I have the 50mm 1.8 and the 75mm to 150 f3. 5 series E lenses

I haven't had that issue with the needle sticking, but good to know. Yeah, the series e lenses are underrated in my opinion.

One of my EM's has the same issue, unfortunately I'm not sure of the fix I haven't tried taking it apart yet. For now I've been keeping the dial in place with some electrical tape.

Thanks! I don't believe they will. I've read somewhere that they can be modified, but it increases the risk of damaging the metering tab.
