Gorgeous! BTW, you can "measure" the size of your piece after the first firing by freezing a frame of the film at just the right time and counting the squares in the grid under it. The squares are approximately 1/2".

Love this piece. If you wanted to skip spreading out the glass in a second firing could you have just slumped it after your 1st firing?

Thank you for a very inspiring video. Since I do not have such a mould, I am wondering how to put such a ready made round glass base in a mould that doesn't have a hole for it, without causing the whole round glass to sink and swallow it. Any suggestions? Alternatively , any suggestions for hanging a flat backed round piece?

I don’t have suggestions other than to experiment and know you may have to risk that glass. Regarding hanging, I know a lot of people have mentioned this but I’ve never used it. Honestly, may be easier to just spring for the mold. 😂 hangyourglass.com/
